I use the View New Content and will then select anything that seems interesting, but I routinely ignore Big Rigs, Nascar, Large Scale just from a lack of interest.
That goes double for me. It its stock, it has no originality, nothing artistic beyond the original design. Why would I want to build someone else's design?
Frankly since the first time I used BMF, there has been no other option. Period. It takes practice but the results are soooo well worth it. Get a scrap body, something from the 50's and just practice with no stress.

You must have found an older kit with red tail lenses. The last few of these kits I've seen have the lenses molded into thr bezels.

Nope. None. If I'm not going to build a kit, it's sold or traded away to someone who will appreciate it. I don't have the space to keep stuff like that.
The purple stuff will attack the primer. Sand down to it on major body areas and let the lye do it's work on the primer. The paint will just slide off like a snake skin. It will take a few days and repeated help with an old toothbrush is recommended.
