  1. Which is why I always take it to PM. I could not agree more.
  2. I've always prefered the stock grill over the LaSalle style, but I will enjoy seeing this come together. Keep it going.
  3. Agreed. I see that most frequently when someone calls themselves a "master" at anything. Their work is above reproach.
  4. Some people just can't take it though. I've seen it in everyday life as well as here. At work recently, a 50 year old professional was spoken to about this or that, and it turned into a fiasco. Instead of "Okay, I'll take care of it, or I'll stop doing it that way,", he had a meltdown. It's never anything but a personal attack, and there is always some excuse, or they are being singled out. No matter what it's the risk we will HAVE to take here or anywhere. You can't be so afraid of offending that you stop even trying to help. As long as you offer the criticism in a polite supportive manner, even if they do blow a gasket, no one can fault you for trying. This very thing happened to me recently in a thread from a newer member.
  5. Put the hood on it and lets see where we are first.
  6. From time to time I think it's a good idea to give this thread a bump. There a lot of great advice here from some of the best builders on the forum that might benefit newer builders. I hope no one minds.
  7. Some people just see things as "their collection", regardless of the fact that it is literally rotting before their eyes. Watch American Pickers and you can really see that mentality at work. They are sitting on hundreds of thousands of dollars in whatever, but unable to part with it because it was owned by dear old dad. Really kinda sad.
  8. Very nice! I have a Bad News version with the clear red roof, still trying to figure out what to do with it.
  9. Very well done.
  10. Looking forward to seeing your rail gun. Here's one I built for something still in the works.

Man, that soooooooooooooo sweet. Very nice work.
  12. Very nice! Well done!
  13. How much and from whom?
  14. Thanks guys. I guess I'm going to have to do some major surgery to make this look like a real engine. I was really looking forward to using that intake.
  15. Man that Riv is really wicked! I love everything about it. Well done.
  16. Thanks guys. I hate when this sorta stuff happens.
  17. I have seen action figures through out the years (most recently a set of GI Joe: Sigma Six) that were 8 inches tall.
  18. Yep, a bit to long but also they don't stick up in big arcs. So have them lay and sag as they would naturally. I'm really enjoying the build. marvelous work.
  19. It's such a Frankenstein of styles that none of it works for me. It's like custom meets tuner meets pro-touring. I'm sure the quality is fantastic, but it just seems such a mess. What is that plumbing from the engine through the center of the cab to the trunk? Is there a big turbo in the trunk or something?
  20. Congrats on the upcoming nuptials, but if you haven't watched a "Funniest Videos" show in a while, some pretty wacky accidents happen at weddings all the time. If you love your models the way I do, I'd hate to have mine damaged or destroyed because some 7 year old saw it and thought "TOY!!!" or any other possible scenario. Have a great wedding, and wishing you all the best in life.
  21. We should all be so lucky. Congrats John.
  22. Can anyone tell me about the engine from the Paddy Wagon? What kind of engine is it? Size? Whats up with that intake? Fuel injection? What the heck are those things at the ends of the headers?
  23. There is a learning curve with bare metal foil. It's not too steep though. Once you have the hang of it, it's fine, but my first time was on a Johan '60 Desoto Adventurer and it was less than successful. Like anything practice. Some q-tips, a few toothpicks (tips sanded smooth) and a brand new x-acto blade are your best tools. I think you can find tutorials for BMF on YouTube also.
  24. That's a very good model for just jumping back in the waters. The paint is smooth, no runs or orange peel. The build looks pretty clean, no glue marks or foggy lenses. Well done. My only suggestion is to pay more attention to removing mold lines (see the master cyclinder) and try out some Bare Metal Foil. For mold lines I recommend some sanding sticks from the nail care area of your local beauty supply store and order the foil direct from Bare Metal Foil, easily found with a Google search. Welcome back to the hobby.
