  1. Certainly there is a better option than these? Anyone?
  2. And what a god-awful color it was.
  3. More design options. I have received a modern Charger hood and rear wing from Fred Mckee. I cut the scoop from the hood. The wing will be modified a bit and will be lower, but I think it works well. The scoop looks great. Thoughts and opinions?
  4. I've never really seen headliners addressed much. Most folks just repair the ejector marks and paint appropriately.
  5. Looks like you are doing a nice clean job. If you haven't already order some Bare Metal Foil for the trim. It takes some practice to use, but you just can't do a 50's car without it.
  6. True. But what would a 2-door be worth in the same condition? In most cases the cost of a rebuildable 2-door is out of reach of the average guy, with two kids a minivan and a mortgage. A 4-door would be less than half the cost and thus, have become much more desirable. Especially old wagons.
  7. It was a good swap meet. Great bunch of guys.
  8. I applaud you for giving this scratch building a shot, but it does look out of scale. Remember 1millimeter approximately equals 1 scale inch. So get out a ruler and see what you have there and see what the specifications are for the full size part.
  9. That'll do! Nicely done.
  10. Looks great. I love satin paint.
  11. I have seen some of the small nails/tacks used in model railroading used very well for such things.
  12. I think is got a very authentic look. Why didn't you repaint when the clear failed? Just curious.
  13. As much as I like and respect the 'ol bulletproof slant six, having one in a Challenger just seems kinda wrong. Looking forward to the build though.
  14. Steve, you did a nice job. You added the extra stock at the bottom to round it out and make it look like a car grill and not something off a riding mower. I'm gonna steal that idea. Well done.
  15. Looks like a cool idea. Go for it.
  16. Clear coat. Since it's being painted black I would just go with Duplicolor black and clear. It's lacquer and will dry well and quickly.
  17. Very good Jim. $2 entry fee, all for ASPCA charity. Fifteen to twenty vendors. Decent prices on kits. And the club members are a good bunch of guys. I may join.
  18. Picked up a Revell '39 Chevy Wagon Rod and the AMT '70 Coronet Super Bee pro street at a local swap meet yesterday. I'm not sure what ill do with them yet.
  19. I think it turned out great. Excellent work.
  20. I've lived all over this country while in the service, lived in lil towns and big ones. It seems to me that although some didn't have a "hobby" store, a model train store was nearly always around somewhere.
  21. It's good that you have an understanding of what your skill level is. However, you will also learn by trying new things, so don't be totally spooked by the idea of doing mods. Just start small. A wheel/tire change, a motor change. A suspension modification. I've been preaching "Walk then Run" for a while now, and I'm glad to see you understand the concept, but don't let if keep you from expression. Your paint work looks pretty good, and you build pretty cleanly. Those are the basics and you seem to be mastering them well. Keep it going.
  22. I'm kicking around the idea of using the Revell five spokes in place of the wires, we'll have to wait and see. Paint WILL be a gloss, Duplicolor Medium Grey Metallic. Stay tuned, I will start painting parts tomorrow. Thanks for the ataboys guys.
