    32 Ford's

Got a new one in the works.
  3. Thanks for those pics of the Lawman '66 Charger. I'd love to build a replica one day.
  4. A very cool build. I like it a lot.
  5. This is a very interesting panel. Note the WW2 war trophies on the wall. Many early hot rodders were vets returning from service. This must be depicting such a person.
  6. This is a very cool idea. The Monogram '64 is a great kit. The Ram Air 400 is a great touch and those wheels and tires are awesome. If I might make a comment about the ignition wires. In 1:1 you will rarely see the spark plug wires running over the valve covers. They run either before or behind depending on distributor location. This way the valve cover can be removed without disconnecting the wiring. Here's a pic. http://ultimategto.com/cgi-bin/showcar.cgi?type=lot&pic=/1967/67_00343_3
  7. Ben, because of the angle of the posts, I think that method would not work the way you think it would. Besides, why waste another kit, when you have the skills to do it this way?
  8. Yep, it's time to take a step back. Then fix the what needs fixing.
  9. Ouch. That's rough. That's seriously mean. I hope you work it out.
  10. Great. We'll alert the media.
  11. You need some sort of ventilation. Spraying indoors without a vented spray booth is never a good idea. Beyond the fumes you have overspray to worry about. A bathroom exhaust fan is NOT adequate ventilation.
  12. Okay, here is another revelation, the grill shell is very close in shape to the front edge of the hood. I think with some sanding I can make it work. The channeling has made the grill shell a perfect fit height-wise. More soon. Jim, the paint is still in the planning stage, so shiny is a possibility.
  13. There's just no pleasing some people.
  14. I have finished the chassis mods, and altered the interior cup and firewall. A few mock up shots. The kit radiator will need to be shortened a bit, but otherwise it fits the grill shell perfectly. I'd like to say I planned it that way, but it was just luck.
  15. Okay, you have just earned yourself a fan. Great work ethic, great work. I dig it.
  16. That looks great Rich. Nice color choice.
  17. That Nova is mighty impressive, but holy cow! that truck is insane. I've never seen anything hook up like that. I'm going to have to find something in my stash that might make a good sleeper.
  18. Try your local model train store. They have lot of the supplies we use every day.
  19. Well I started a combo of the Revell roadster and the sedan a while back, but after a while I just wasn't diggin' it. This was as far as I got. After an hour perusing Hot Rod Kulture magazine, here is where I'm headed now. I'll use the tractor style grill shell I built in in the tutorial and channel the body over the frame. I will retain the painted wires and the flathead from the original. Color will be satin Magenta over a flat back chassis. More soon.
  20. Well looks like this will work. BTW the kit radiator fits like it was made for this grill shell.
  21. Anyone tried this yet? http://store.scalemotorsport.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=SM&Category_Code=PAINT
  22. I usually cut out the extra with a sharp #11 until I'm close. Then I switch to some low grit sandpaper wrapped around an appropriate size piece of pvc pipe.
  23. This is sitting outside my local Shooter's World. Guessing from the wheelbase, it looks like it's built on a armored truck chassis. It is not just for show. The sides are 5/8" plate steel. The round things on the side below the windows open from the inside only and are meant to have weapons fired through it. Lots of lights. It's for sale if anyone's interested. Only $120,000.
