  1. I'm trying to keep wheels, tires, spinners, beauty rings, center caps etc, together as a set guys.
  2. Hmmm...........10 years. Nope, I got nothing. I had a couple that were close to ten, but I figured if I wasn't going to get to it for that long, I wasn't going to period. I recently traded away my '51 Fleetline custom to a better home, and my narrowed '55 Tbird was parted out and no regrets. I have a few at about five years, but I still got steam left for them, and they will get done way before we see the ten year mark.
  3. Manny you are a master at this. No question. Your attention to detail is marvelous. The way the trim has popped away from the fender in the second pic is perfection. Now would I be a complete jerk if I said I'm waiting eagerly for something new from you? We know you can do this. What else ya got?
  4. just so you can get some decent sleep? Lately I've had to put put my scratch built ATV project (for Cranky's zombie CBP) away just because with so much engineering to do for every part, I was literally brainstorming every spare moment. It was keeping me up at night just because i couldn't shut my brain off. And when I did finally fall asleep I was dreaming about it. Literally. I had to box it up and put it back on the shelf, take a Unisom, and then work on another WIP the next day. Am I the only obsessed one or are we all in the same wing in the psych ward?
  5. Wow Casey. Those are some serious ugly.
  6. A contest build. Is this for an online photo-contest or a real life judged on a table top contest? If it is the latter, then one piece of advice I will offer, is to check out the first picture. See the round ejector pin marks? Getting rid of those is model building 101. The basics. If a judge sees those, your model might as well not be on the table, no matter how good it looks. The same goes for flash, mold lines, sprue tabs, etc.\ I look forward to seeing more. BTW, what kit is this?
  7. The '66 version I had, had only licence plate decals. The '69 version I'm starting has none. Has any incarnation of this kit ever had any cool decals? With the custom options, I figure at some point it had to have something interesting. If so, please post up a pic if you have a moment to do so.
  8. I dig it. Nice work.
  9. I've been parting out a lot of kits and my wheel/tire collection is getting problematic. I keep sets in lil baggies but finding them is still a mess. I try to keep everything together, wheels/backs/tires/accessories and I really need a better method of doing so. I'd love to hear about or see some alternatives. Thanks.
  10. John did you paint the white walls in layers? Did you thin the paint any? What were your steps to get such an even result. It looks great.
  11. Well I guess calling someone pig greedy would get a fella riled, true or not.
  12. It's gotta be aluminum Roger. Bends to easily to be steel and keeps its new shape perfectly.
  13. That definitely looks like it will do the job. Great work.
  14. Yeah you shouldn't be leaving a model body uncovered after painting for several days.
  15. There are instructions on posting pictures in the How to Use This Forum section if that is the difficulty you are having.
  16. This really is incredibly impressive. Very clean work.
  17. So into my detailing gear I went, fished out my 20 gauge beading wire. I found a couple sheetmetal screws and came up with these. The smaller of the two will do very nicely. Thanks to everyone for their advice, but using something I bought years ago trumps all other options. I'll post up the finished item when I finish one.
  18. Thanks guys. I'm going to try to make some with a screw and some beading wire. I'll post up whatever I come up with. Thanks for the input.
  19. I'm no expert on tuners, but I'm fairly certain the AMT '95 Supra, originally from the Fats and the Furriest line, has an excellent 2jz.
  20. Thanks guys. I'll hit Home Depot today after work.
  21. Maybe thin the thickness of the plastic some before starting? The plastic around the wheel opening? It might give it a little more flex being thinner? I haven't tried this yet so I'm just guesstimating.
  22. Thin enamels with a little thinner or acrylics with a little water.
  23. Well yeah, one would want to damp the slapping after all.
  24. Just use some black or grey paint thinned down.
