Guys, an argument here is pointless. This model is miles better than my stuff at that age. Patrick as you are a new modeler, I'd like to invite you to check out the link in my signature line called "Walk then Run". It was a thread I had written a couple years ago offering advice to new builders. It was very well recieved by builders of all ages and skill levels.

I asked about that recently in an email to them about a non-SS Chevelle grill. I got a very terse reply stating they work 60 hour weeks and have no time to take pictures of anything.

Well I wouldn't call them professional, and after CarToons folded up, these guys hit some hard times. I found them panhandling here in Tampa with signs that said, "Will customize for food." So I offered them the room above my garage and they were pretty happy with that. They are sending resume's in to Chip Foose and Troy Trepanier but so far no bites. Jesse James showed some interest but they didn't want to work for someone with so little class. So until they find something better, they work for me. On the downside though - we need to talk about hygiene.

Hmm............... The plans so far. Low. Fast. Fiery Orange. Hemi decals of some sort. Daytona/Superbird rear wing (modified). More soon. I need to figure out ride height and engine clearance. I will say this though. If I take this build to contest, it certainly won't be on a mirror. What passes for a chassis is quite laughable, that fills only about 75% of the space as seen from the bottom.

Well gang I gotta be honest. I have completely lost interest in the narrowed GTO. And it also apprears that many of you guys have as well. Because the GTO is base on art it is not as easy to do in scale. A lot of issues to overcome. So she is going up onto the shelf where she will stay until I'm good and bored. I do have another kit that might fit the bill, I'll post it up later on.

My Cougar is rear finished and I have decided that my Cannonballer needs to be next out of the gate. My crack fabricators Krass and Bernie, are clearing a spot in the garage right now

I have heard that there is a hood clearance issue if you build it without the tunnel ram.

A '40 seems to me to be a tricky thing to chop. Either you get it right or it looks like hammered you-know-what. I think you got it right. Looking forward to more.

Getting close to done now. Just little details left. I'm trying not to rush it. Interior is very plain just some flat black and silver. Unless its a convertible, I don't put a lot into the interiors. The chassis is done. Made some scratch shocks and slapper bars. I'll add exhaust tips after its all assembled. The engine has been dirtified a bit. Not going overboard with the weathering, I want it to look like it's seen some wrench time. I'll add a rusty wash to the rockers later in but the body is pretty much done. Those that caught the theme of this build in previous posts, might appreciate the personalized tag. The next post will be in the Under Glass section. More soon.

After being recommended using a guitar string as a radio antenna, I got one and then went out and got a drill bit the appropriate size for the string. The problem is - none of my three pin vices can handle a #79 drill bit. They just don't close up tightly enough. Can someone who has used these super-small drill bits recommend a pin vice capable of using them. Brand and model would be helpful. Thanks.

It has a great profile. I like it a lot. If you could drop the front end a bit. It would have the perfect stance as well.

Just primer well and sand with 1000 grit until primer starts to show. Follow with a dark wash.

I have offered to coach then on building so they can do out themselves. But they say they just want the model not another hobby. So far neither has taken up my offer. So I just have to put up with their nagging.
