  1. Well....there is how they both look. The kit you have has decals for both so I guess its your decision. Enjoy the build and I hope this has provided you with some incentive.
  2. Very nice figure Dan. An excellent compliment to a beautiful model. And, of course, we all know that the Stig is Michael Schumacher in disguise.
  3. Good job, like the color.
  4. I have two others done with the clearveiw and it is nice to have next to the original. All the detail we painstakingly go through is visible through the body without having to dis-assemble the kit to do so. Thank you for the compliment.
  5. Just off the bench. This is actually a re-visit of a kit I did about thirty years ago. Only this time it has a clear body. Since the original was done as Niki Lauda i chose to do this one with his team mate John Watson. Went the extra yard on the engine since it will be visible. Added fuel lines, oil and water. Detailed up the driver figure and vacuum formed a new visor. Main body color is Tamiya TS-8 and the tub was covered in aluminium stickers supplied with the kit. Nice to be able to do an old kit over and do it better this time. Don't varnish over decals any more as it turns the white ones yellow with age. See the photo
  6. Nice Job Scott. Thanks for putting this up Gary. Always a pleasure seeing Scotts handiwork.
  7. I have seen this model before. Soooooo...you are the builder. Very impressive. I will check it out. And thanks for the encouragement...Regards Rich
  8. Thanks for the reply and the compliments. I am with you on the wheel wells. I have carved many a body (especially resin) in order to get the wheels to steer properly. I have that Pagani Huayra and plan to put this little beauty in the seat. I have done some preliminary fitting of the body and chassis but the kit is very daunting. I am not easily intimidated by a kit but this is one of them. I have moods too and maybe I can get the incentive to dive into. I have plenty of kits that will require a lot of engineering. A real modeler will dig into it and can turn a sow's ear ear into a decent model. I applaud your efforts on that Monogram Lotus. Its coming along quite nicely.
  9. Dan......have followed your posts on this kit. I have two of these in progress and a lot of your mod are impressive. One of my pet peeves on models is the wheels never steer. Here is my modification to the front suspension of the kit you are working on. The rubber boots are silicone tubing turned in a moto-tool. The rest is pretty straight forward. Mine are already painted and awaiting final assembly but I may add a lot of the mods to the interiors you have. Yours is looking very good.....Regards Rich PS..took some digging to find these...it was done 10/21/2009
  10. Keep an eye out on here. I built both of those and am planning on posting pictures. Did both of them at once and it saved me some time.
  11. I hope you realize you are responsible for this madness......<G>
  12. Wouldn't surprise me. Modelers (yah... I have one of those too) was Mr Tamiya's daughter. . Thanks for the compliment.
  13. This is my first Ebbro kit and i must say i was very impressed with the detail and fit and finish. I did add some extra detailing but not as much as I could. Color is Tamiya TS43 Racing Green. Frame is a custom mix light grey. All of the parts fit as advertised with the exception of the cowl. This had to be pinned on and if you look closely you can see them although they were painted to match the body color. I have since cone other Ebbro kits and enjoyed them very much. The quality is there. Have others on this forum experienced the same
  14. Thanks for the welcome guys. You will see more of me.
  15. Hi, Thanks for the add to the group. Not new to modeling by any means. Started in 1964 and haven't quit yet. Have accumulated a very large collection over the years as I very rarely get rid of anything I build. Have been involved in almost every aspect of this hobby including organizing shows and hosting build sessions. All modeling interests me but my first passion is cars and specifically road racing and exotic cars. Have built a variety of scales but stick mostly to 1/12, 1/20 and 1/24. Also race slot cars and have had a group continuosly since 1973. Probably know a few names on this forum since I am a member of a couple of others. But I am always looking to make new friends here. Looks like a good active group....thanks again....Rich
