Wow, great job. Could I trouble you with any advice on applying decals? Did you apply them directly over the paint or did you clear or polish first and did you seal the decals in any way? Thanks for sharing.

Great job, I have a couple Race cars to do and not sure about all the decals , So you applied the decals over polished enamel and did you seal the decals with a clear coat or wax?

I would like to smooth the Testors enamel paint before applying decals and then top the decals with Future. What do you guys do as far as smoothing paint, decals .and top gloss coat?
Thanks again.

Will future stick to a waxed polished enamel paint job. I have painted the model with testers enamel paint and want to polish it out before applying decals and apply future over the decals. Not sure if future will stick to waxed/polished surface.
Thanks in advance... -
Hello, I just painted my model with Testors enamel mixed with lacquer thinner and air brushed. I have sanded with 2000 grit to get some of the imperfections out and all looks good. My question to you guys is I want to apply several good size decals and not sure if I should clear coat before applying the decals and another coat of clear after decals? The paint is dull right now from sanding but is it smooth enough for the decals with applying clear? I wanted to use either Testors clear airbrushed or Future. I know you want to clear after decals so they look better and are protected.I also see where the paint is finished with compounds and wax.
Thanks in advance, George

All good advice above.
being that you have used enamel, best to give it time to gas off (dry) before attempting anything.
with enamel that can be some time depending on your environment. Temps and humidity.
Do you think 7 days , it has been inside on bench with low humidity room and warm temp?
Thanks, George

Hello, just painted my car model with Testors enamel paint and noticed a dust string in the paint. Can I sand out with 600 grit after a few days and re shoot that area?Any suggestions from you experts out there would be a big help. Thanks, George
