I saw similar off-road vehicles on the internet. Over the years I have become an avid scratch-builder. No kit, no nothin'. I had to build one of these things!
The easiest fabrication material was small rectangular brass tubing, and solid brass rod, for ease of soldiering. Because of so many joints I decided resistance soldiering was the way to go. Because this scale model would be unlike anything I had ever built, I decided to document the construction photographically. The project took me some nine months to complete.
It took me literally many months just to fabricate the tubular brass body cage. I used a diecast motor of the correct scale. I detailed it with wiring, radiator, even scratch-built exhaust pipes. The interior cockpit, except for the seats, was hand-crafted from various materials. Tire and wheel components were kit-bashed and modified to fit the cage.
This remains the most challenging, and at times exhausting, project I have ever attempted!
