This is a model of the 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner Bobby Allison in the 1968 American 500 at Rockingham. Paint is Krylon Gold leaf and Testors Dark Red. Tires and wheels are from Performance Plastic Products. Decals are from ACE Decals. Thanx for lookin'

My buddy Steve sent me a 3D printed resin kit of the Uncertain T in 1/24th scale. I didn't like the tires and wheels that came with it, raided the parts box and came up with some tires and wheels. The front wheels are a set of TruWire 74 wire wheels. Paint was a combination of Testors Oranges and metal flake. It was little tricky getting the chassis to slide into the body. All-in-all it was a fun build. Thanx for lookin'

Come on out for a good time. After January, we will be the only model car show in Northern California. We are small, but hopefully we can expand in the coming years.

1/20th scale model from Salvinos JR of Scott McLaughlins Pennzoil Indy Car. A fairly easy build, except for a few miss-numbered kit parts and unclear instructions on installing some parts. Hint: scour the instructions and test fit parts before assembly makes it a lot easier. I acquired a bottle of Pennzoil Yellow paint from ScaleFinishes. It's real close match to the yellow used on the windscreen decal. The decals are excellent , just a wee bit on the thin side. So be patient when applying. Thanx for lookin'

Has Humbrol stopped producing their acrylic spray paints? I can not find them at the usual suppliers. Those that do carry them, have a very limited supply and colors. I did find them listed on a few websites in the United Kingdom, but every color is "Out of Stock". I'm just trying to find a couple of cans of "Aluminum #56".

I built a model of this car and it is the Virginia Transportation Museum in Roanoke. They have a wing dedicated to Curtis Turner there. The story on this car, so I've heard is Smokey did modify this car quite a bit. It was before NASCAR used templates to verify vehicle profiles. Smokey being Smokey he had a stock Chevelle modified to match the race car placed in the parking lot. When NASCAR questioned the profile of the race car, Smokey led them to the parking lot and pointed out his planted Chevelle and let NASCAR measure it and compare to the race car...no problem! Curtis Turner did race this car, but he had a big accident and totaled the car. After the race, Smokey said that this was his last car he would build for NASCAR because he didn't want to build the car that killed Curtis Turner. Both Smokey and Curtis were both a couple of characters making NASCAR fun in the 50's and 60's.

Yes I did glue the air cleaner, but with canopy glue...removed it and the hood closes perfectly, thanx. Also my one and only build of these.

SalvinosJR model of the Toyota Christopher Bell drove at Daytona in 2023. A very complicated kit not for the faint of heart. I did have issues with the instructions, parts misslabeled and not clear on how to fit/placement of some parts. Decals are excellent, but had to refer to actual photos of the real car to get proper placement...instruction sheet is sketchy at best. Paint is Tamiya TS-14 Black, everything else is decals. Only added detail was the screen on the drivers door. I wanted it to look as it would before Mr. Bell got in the car. Overall it turned out to be a very nice looking model of the real car. thanx for looking

My first post on the forum for close to 5 years...Jr Salvinos 1979 Oldsmobile 442 driven by AJ Foyt. Built purty much straight out of the box. added netting to drivers side. Paint is Scalefinishes Poppy Red. Excellent decals. instructions do have mislabeled parts, it was easy to figure out which ones they mean. Chrome finish on the bumpers, etc a little too garish for me. Overall a fun and challenging kit to build. thanx for looking

Purchased this model at the GSL Auction in Salt Lake City. The kit is complete except for one crucial part, the right half of the exhaust outlet, see attached photo. Looking for someone to send me the part so I can resin cast and send back to them. or even better someone to 3D print the part. I will pay for shipping to and fro and cost of 3D printed part. Thanx Scott, I have set of IndyCal Decals for the car, waiting for them to have the resin tires back in stock. I plan on doing a fairly detailed model of it. Right now the kit is at John Teresi's. I flew to Salt Lake and John transported my models and those I bought back to Van Nuys. I will be picking them up from him at your show in October c'ya in October

I went with the straight bevel as in Daniels photographs. I went to a lot nostalgia drag races and almost all the the rims had a straight bevel.

Alas, I found a machine shop in my hometown and they machine my rims for me. a Big-Big time saver, plus every rim is consistent.
