Hi - I would like to change the wire wheels on a 1/18 scale Aston Martin DB4 GT (Road Signature/Yat Ming/White Box). The question is how to remove the stock wheels without damaging the axle-mounts? I have seen a video where the end of the axle has a slot cut in it and pinching that slot together releases the wheel. Has anyone practical experience of removing wheels from those makers?

I want to remove the wire wheels from a 1:18 scale Road Signature/Yat Sing Aston Martin in order to upgrade them. Has anyone actual practical experience of taking wheels off a Road Signature/Yat Sing etc 1: 18 scale model - can it be done without damage - and any tips please?
