Bandai 1:72 X-Wing as General Antoc Merrick's Blue One at the Battle of Scariff in Rogue One.  I figured it is a General's ride so a bit cleaner than the rest.  All markings and panels masked and painted, the only decals used were the Wrens on his helmet.

Thanks Simon.  The next two X-Wings after this one will be even more different, a T-65 and a T-70 inspired by Ralph McQuarrie's original concept art.

Bandai 1:72 X-Wing being done as General Antoc Merrick in Rogue One.  Sub assemblies are ready for penciled in panel lines and then Tamiya Panel Line Accent washes in both black and brown.  As usual the sub assemblies were based in Mr Surfacer 1500 Gray followed by SMS Classic White.  SMS Haze Gray was used for several of the panels and the other panels were mixes of SMS colors to get the shades I was looking for.  The blue fuselage stripes and wing markings are Gravity Ford Grabber Blue straight from the bottle.

Thanks both of you.  X-wings are my second favorite SF ship and number one fighter. 

First place for me is the Eagle Transporter from Space:1999.  It just looks like it would work having been in inspired by the lunar lander.  Got a couple of them in the stash to (hopefully) get to later this year.

I started work on General Antoc Merrick's Blue Leader/One from Rogue One over the weekend.  Sorry for the delay in the reply while waiting for Mod approval.  LOL (been since before the update to the forum since I'd posted)

Been a long time since I started this project to model all 6 screen shown X-Wings in the Original movie.  These are my interpretations based on the original release and the enhanced released versions.

Red 2 as of this afternoon.  Might do a tiny bit more weathering on the exhausts. Starting Red 3 soon.

All 6 will be the Bandai 1/72.  There are several releases (3, IIRC) with different decals and amounts of pre-colored parts.  Some of the kits have all the lower panels of the upper fuselage in red and some have white sections in place of the several of the red depending on which one it was released as.  Bandai kits can be built out of the box as snap-tights but I build them glued with Tamiya Extra Thin so I can fix the join lines. 

Bandai plastic doesn't react well to enamel washes unless you glue (which seems to relieve the stress of the friction joining of the snap fit) and paint all exposed surfaces.  I also thin the pins of the joints so that I can realign if needed, but these kits are so well engineered and extruded that very little is ever really needed.

Red 2 loosely press fit in preparation for the over spray of thinned SMS White.
 

Final glue up will be after most of the weathering is complete.  Hoping to have the over spray done this afternoon and a coat of gloss down tonight.  Panel lines penciled in and Tamiya Black and Brown panel line wash are after that with a flat coat following.  Final weathering will be with Tamiya weathering powders and a second flat coat to lock it in.

This evening I got the red stripes masked off and painted.  Tomorrow morning it will get a light misting and drybrushing of white to tone everything down.  Then the fun part, weathering and bringing this thing to life.  Will post pictures later.
