  1. Thanks all. Some good info there.  I'm not a big details in the brain guy on the Corvettes... But from what I can tell, the main differences between a '63 and '67 are: 1) Split rear window, 2) Fender vents, 3) Vents on the hood, and 4) B pillar vents

The hood would be an easy fix, just cut some holes, add PE. The fender vents are simple to construct. The B pillar vents would be a little more trouble, but could be swapped out from another kit. I guess the window split could be done the same way.

  2. pinecrest has gone out i have been looking to see who got the molds  for I was thinking of redoing it but would like to ask before i do

Thanks. So much for that then. Oh well.

The open Bronco kit I have doesn't have any stock suspension parts in it.

Thanks for checking. So much for that then. Oh well.

Anyone know a cheap source for the iHobby AMT Bronco?? All the eBay ones run $40.00 USD + S&H. That's a bit steep in my mind.

Willing to trade for one too.

  3. I would suggest the AMT Bronco since it's the correct scale, and I think it is better than the Monogram front end since it is multiple pieces rather than just one piece.

I would, maybe, if I knew what it looked like. That's the problem.

Also, that gen F-150 started in '92, not '91.

I knew that. That's just a typo. Oops.

    Seventh generation (1980 – 1986)

    Eighth generation (1987 – 1991) +(1992 - 1997 on certain models - Chassis Cabs)

    Ninth generation (1992 – 1996) + (1997 - 1998 on certain models - F250HD/F350)

And then they got real ugly. Like someone left them put in the sun too long.

  4. Thanks highway. Too bad that that isn't even close. Well, in over-all configuration maybe. :(

The transfer case seems to be a Borgs Wagner 1356 (BW1356). Calnaga Castings does have a generic BW case. I think that will do for these builds.

This is what it should look like. Note that those radius arms are after market, and the beams have been reinforced (the welded on bits):

  5. Hey all,

Well, it's been over a year. Projects seem to get pushed aside. Sucks. Anyways...

I went to Calnaiga Resin, and they don't seem to have what I am looking for. I know that the old MPC Dust Devil kit is a 4x4, but I can't tell if it has the twin I-Beam suspension or a solid axle. I need the Twin I-Beam.

Longbox55, you said the latest AMT Bronco would have it, but I can't seem to find ANY images of the sprues or underside of the kit. Does anyone have pics??

Better yet, does anyone have parts I can trade for/buy/borrow??

  6. A couple of weeks ago, my dad and I got a great deal on interlocking pavers for his driveway. We just had to uninstall them ourselves, and haul them home. No problem (ugh, we're idiots, but that's another story). At the house where the bricks are, they have four dogs, all rescues. One dog, Ripley, 2 years old, was kicked in the ribs repeated for barking at strangers. She is very afraid of men, and skittish (skiddish??) around men she knows. My dad and I have been at the their house 14 times now, taking bricks. Each time I would get down on my knees, hold out my hand, and just wait. Eventually Ripley would come and smell me, and then I could pet her for a few moments, and then off she went. Well, today, the 14th load, she came right up to me, I petted her, and she even gave me kisses. And, then, when it was time to go (trailer was full), she started to whine because I was leaving. It pleased me greatly to know that she could trust me, and liked me, even though she was abused so badly by another man. Silly I know, but it was very pleasing to know that.

  7. That IS looking real good. Just one note of accuracy... You don't have any 2x4s stuck inside that chassis. :o

I was looking to add several of these show cars to the stash. But, to be honest, they intimidate the heck out of me. As Misha said, all that exposed chrome...

  8. Hey all,

I was wondering how one goes about letting everyone know about new stuff they have coming out, and how to sell it here. (and maybe a retailer that would carry it)

I vaguely remember something about not be able to sell your wares here, unless you advertise in the paper mag. And that Greg(?) would welcome (free) samples to review.:D

I'm not talking about thinning the herd sales, but actual product one makes for other modelers.

Looking at expanding from my Sci-Fi GK line, and finally getting a bunch of my light truck stuff out there. But, I don't want to get banned for doing so 'cause I didn't know the rules. I had a look 'round, but I didn't find an FAQ.

    Thanks all.

  9. Hey All,

Was wondering if there was a 4x4 conversion for AMT's 1992-1996 Ford F-150 XLT truck kit?? The truck I need to replicate is a factory '94 F-150 XL 4x4 (I have a '93 F-350 4x4 w/3" lift to do as well, but that's another story). It doesn't need to be 100% accurate, as few people will be turning it over to have a look see. It's mostly to get the right ride height, and the look of the bits that hang down that you can see from the side.

I looked through the rest of my kits that I thought might provide the donor parts, but couldn't seem to find what I needed. I need more than one set as well, as I will need to build at least 6 trucks -- As the truck stands now (rusted out bits), the mods she will make sooner than later (at least bigger tires and fender flares to cover the rusted out bits), and then her dream truck (w/ at least bigger flares/tires and NO rusted out bits) - all times 2 (one for her, one for me).

Is there a resin conversion set out there, or a list of donor kits that would work?? Thanks guys.

  10. Sorry to say guys, but that ain't no painted body. The PL DeLorean comes chromed. :)

There have been MANY kits of the Time Machine DeLorean. Well, several versions of it for the three movies. The Welly die-casts are nice.

These are the ones that I have, there are more, in other scales.

    All of these are 1/24.

    AMT/Ertl 6122 Back to the Future (1991)

Aoshima 618075 Back to the Future - Part III - Last Type (1990)

Aoshima 027998 Back to the Future - Part III & Driver (1991)

IMX Back to the Future (1992)

Welly 22444W Back to the Future Part III - DeLorean Time Machine (2004)

Welly 22443W Back to the Future - DeLorean Time Machine (2004)

    Welly 22442W De Lorean DMC-12 (2004)

Welly 22441W Back to the Future Part II - DeLorean Time Machine (2004)

  11. For Science Fiction, you can't ask for a better group of people, including the people who own and run the board - Starship Modeler (Better known as SSM). There is a great forum, but there is SO much more to the sight. SSM Forums ANd then the SSM Main Page

There is a contest going on there right now called - Just Glue It! Most contests are Sci-Fi related, but this one is open to ANY model, as long as it has NOT been seen on SSM before.

  12. Well, it's... Different. Don't know if it's an improvement. I don't like it already, that's for sure. There is no "New Posts" option. I would come by, click that, and browse... Now, I have to look in each area, one at a time, and see if there are new posts. Nope, not liking it all all. Just because you can change things, doesn't mean you should. While it looks snazzy and all, it's functionality has dropped significantly.
