  1. Would you think the same is true for the current owners? If they are as educated as you claim, then it puzzles me even more that they let these cars in a tent overnight when there is inclement weather warning.
  2. The wheels and sidepipes are about the only changes. The rest is 100% fishy stuff.
  3. I cannot wait until this waste of space show is finally removed from the public domain and replaced with something someone over the age of 5 can watch, too. The three total dimwits presenting it wouldn't get a job in airport security. May I remind you, that they charge us money for broadcasting this rubbish?
  4. Gosh, this box looks like it was at Russo Steel.
  5. Man, what a loss of cultural heritage. But: I would not leave my car in a tent overnight, in winter, in Arizona. No, I wouldn't. I just wouldn't. Actually, I wouldn't leave my car in a tent overnight anywhere anywhen. I just wouldn't. Nope.
  6. At least here in Europe you can also link it to your bank account.
  7. I got these yesterday, so I hope it counts. Was at a local swap meet. First, I got the only two 1/24 scale Heller kits I was still missing! It was like finding two long lost children: These will probably not overly excite you, but they aren't that easy to come by on these shores: A few additions to my ever growing 1/20 scale stock. I find 1/20 a very interesting scale: A Fujimi 'Tohge' Mitsubishi Starion Turbo in 1/24 scale: I have this obsession that I will once build one of these ornate Japanese hearses, hence I always pick up something like this when I see it:
  8. It's a 1972 Rover P6 V8.
  9. Once you have logged in, you can change or amend your cc info. It will tghen book off a cent or so and on your next cc bill you see this booking with a ref. no. You enter this ref. no. in your paypal account and you are verified.
  10. Don't forget to paint that windscreen surround black, or Harry will spank your bottom.
  11. I just painted two models orange straight from an automotive rattle can without any problems. I have also used platikote tangerine in the past and found it extremely easy to use. What exactly do you use for paint and by which means do you apply it? Which basecoat/preparation do you use?
  12. I second this. It just doesn't look good to me. But: 10 out of 10 for originality and the workmanship is spot on!
  13. completely out to lunch

  14. Marketing strategy, my bottom. They all know so darn well what 'the clients' (which is US!!) want, that they go bust every other year. Job well done! They should possible start throwing their money at a think tank. A think tank does basically nothing besides costing an obscene amount of money and in the end coming up with a concept like 'good kits are better than bad kits' or sum such wisdom nobody was able to figure out for himself. Man, what has this world come to?
  15. Rolls Royce hearses used to be very common in England. There are even several Phantom hearses still around. Nowadays people generally find them too 'tacky', hence we only use ours on special request, or for period film work. A lot of old hearses have been rebodied lately though, since they command higher prices in the collectors market this way. Ours is a 1934 25/30. It started life as a Hooper limousine for the Imperial Hotel in Manchester. It was recruited and used as an ambulance during WWII. After being decommissioned, it was bought by the funeral home I am working for and they ordered the coachwork by Alpe and Saunders, who finished it in 1948. It hasn't been restored or even painted since then. This is a three-owner Rolls Royce. The car has probably never travelled more than 100 miles from its home. Even more common than Rolls Royces are these over here: It's a Daimler DS 420 and we use it for 'regular' funerals and transports. Our 'first call car' is a Volvo 760.
  16. Hallo Jürgen, Which colour yellow did you use? Welches Gelb hast Du benutzt? Cheers, Christian
  17. Can't wait to hear this being fired up for the first time. What did you say? It's a model?
  18. Oh god, it's flat-pack. 1958 revisited. Not for me then, thank you very much. It would also have been nice if they had included a RHD instrument panel.
  19. Sorry, I didn't know this kit has been dicussed already.
  20. They are listed on I pay Germany, so the model is released. Prices are 22 to 32 Euros depending on who you buy from.
  21. Wow, I'd never guessed that the colour is this popular! It wasn't my choice really, the guy at my local paint shop suggested it and did the painting. Don't get me wrong, I like it too, but I shouldn't get the credit for it.
  22. There are two basic methods to modify a stock frame. Z-ing and C-ing. When you 'Z' a frame, you step it ahead and behind the cab, so the suspension mounting locations are moved up. When you 'C' a frame, you only notch it with a c-shaped cutout to allow for the axle to be moved further up, thus lowering the car. If you want to achieve the stance in the mock-up pics, you may have to 'Z' the frame as well as channel the body.
  23. 1/4 mile would be considered a long track. Sheffield is 390 yards and it is by no means the shortest track in the country. Engine size is unlimited, but all out out-cubic-inching each other is a thing of the past. Shale cars nowadays have around 500CI, and tar cars usually run small blocks. I'll have a look at your vids shortly.
  24. Errrr...which Newport?
