finished this up today. this is #6 for 08. theres a lot of imperfections but it was pissin me off and i wanted to get it done. paint is rustoleum copper metallic with folk art hi-shine clear.

im sure it was mentioned but didnt wanna read all the replies. i got a resin pop machine from scale modeling by chris. i spray painted it silver and it fished, so i sanded it and tryed it with a brush,and the brush paint fisheyed. i cleaned it with clean thinner,sanded,and washed it with warm water and dish soap. sprayed it silver and it fisheyed a lil bit. so i let it dry and sprayed the blue topcoat on and it fisheyed like a bitch . could i dunk it in dot 3 brake fluid and wash with warm water and dish soap again? i need help

i didnt read any of this but a few posts of a bunch of bickering. and i must be the only one here that doesnt care about history

great job bringin up the pins, i forgot all about the,,and i have a lil box of em lol. they also work good for antennas with the lil balls on the end. also the regular pins (with just the lil nub on the end) work good for oil dipsticks

i forgot to mention toothpicks. and the great thing about em is they are reuseable. i use em to stir paint in the lil testors bottles, use em to apply paint to detail, and use to help put foil/chrome tape on in lil creveses (sp)

thanks george. i wanted to get another dakota and transfor it to a durango with a explorer or blazer roof, but when i saw this a light went off in my head to build this,plus it was much easier. even though theres no interior or motor, i like it

i know it aint much but how often do you see a durango model? this started off as a toy my lil bro had. there was a lil remote for it that made the alarm go off,the lights flash and it would move forward about 5 feet. the remote quit working or he lost it and he quit playin with it, so i took it, took all the electrical ###### out and rewired the lights to the on/off switch underneith. i painted it green metalspecks and added some better rims to it BEFORE found out it was 1:25 scale when i put it next to my dakota model FINISHED!! and the lights on

where i gotta put it it would be a hard to sand cuz its in the jamb work of the trunk lid

i use the ink tubes of pens for part of the hinges. on LIL some people use the springs in em for the rear coil springs

well i MIGHT have to redo where i bondoed so if i do ill try n find some vasoline and put it on the bottom side of the trunk lide and interior package tray and tape the top side so the bodo wont stick to the top or bottom of the parts that gotta come off thanks for the help guys
