  1. Available for reading online or download here:  https://archive.org/details/1968-04_202210/1963 04/

A few issues are missing. August, September, October, November 1965, and April 1971 on to the end.

You can find the covers to all issues here:  http://99wspeedshop.com.s3-website-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/modelcarscience.html

Internet archive has many interesting books and magazines. Car Model is also available, but only to read online if you log in.

Look around, you will be pleased with what you find on both these sites.

Most short track cars run the RF out, the RR tucked in, the LR out and the LF tucked in. It's all about weight transfer for handling. And most classes I raced in, only allowed one inch difference in back spacing between wheels, so you do suspension and axle changes to set the wheels where they need to be. I know that's a dirt car in my pic, but you can see the offset on the wheels and suspension. Works the same on dirt as asphalt.

What they're doing with the wheel offsets is altering the car's thrust angle. The setup you describe is pointing the TA to the driver's right & is for dry-slick dirt tracks.

I'm pretty sure no one did this in the 1970's.

I built the red white & blue Valiant Scamp & the Warren Stewart Dart as a kid in the late 1970's. Had no trouble with all 4 wheels touching ground.

  3. 57 years old. 1st model kit was the original issue of the MPC Dick Dastardly's Mean Machine.

1st glue kit was the AMT 66 Buick Modified Stocker.

I have every model I have ever built.

Currently like to build 60's & 70's race cars & customs, but there are exceptions.

  4. I could use these. (Yeah, I'm new here).

What would you want other than steel rims? I'm low on those myself, don't want to give up any.

I got some stuff on eBay for sale, I could stop the auction & send you some of these.
