I always loved the body style of the 57 T-Birds and wanted to build an early street machine version of one. I built this using the AMT 57 Thunderbird kit. Paint is Tamiyas Yellow Pearl over Tamiyas white primer then coated with Testors Wet Coat. Mags and tires are parts box finds. New axles were made using weld wire to bring the wheels out to a correct position. The sneaker pipes are from AMT's 49 Ford. Taillights are from AMT's 56 Ford as are the traction bars. Windshield frame and headlight brows are from a vintage issue of the 57.
Overall it was a fun build however, the windshield did not want to cooperate no matter what glass or frame I used.

Very nice! That Purplicious is a really nice color! I'm pretty sure I would never be able to complete a 24 hr. build, let alone have it come out as fantastic as yours.
Be amazed what can be done in 24hrs. It is all in fun anyway. If ya finish, Hooray! If not, finish it after and Hooray! Believe me, I felt the same way when I 1st tried it. Mistakes will be made etc but, you learn a lot. Plus you meet a lot of really cool people from around the globe. I encourage anyone to try it.

This is my most recent creation that was done for a 24 hour build off. Thankfully it kinda kick started my building again. I found it was a very nice kit to put together and I had a lot of fun building it. I basically built it right out of the box with the exception of the M&H tire decals which I got on line. I also opened the headers as they were solid at the flange. The color is Testors Purple-licous over white Tamiya primer. The only thing that annoyed me is they didn't give proper wheel backs for the mags. I ended up using the stock wheel backs to give it a realistic look otherwise it just looked like a car with no brakes. LOL!
Anyway, enough babbling and on with the pics.

Awesome! Know this car well. Owned by an acquaintance of mine. See it a lot. Looks like you nailed it!

Finished this up a month back and finally had a chance to post. Such a great kit. Needed a break from my usual builds and basically built this straight from the box. Had a few issues with the decals due to where it was stored but they came out pretty good considering. Paint is Duplicolor bright red.

Mighty fine looking Gasser, really like the idea of using a sedan delivery. One thing I noticed is the class designation should be B/G not B/GS, the 'S' indicates supercharged. Still an excellent build.
You are absolutely right! Lol realized right after I posted. Meant to remove it before hand. It has since been corrected. Thank you.

Just finished this up. While it looks red in the pics it is actually Tamiya Bright Orange and White. Seats are the buckets from the AMT '57 Ford kit. Stacks are from the Monogram 70 Mustang Boss. Decals are a mix from several kits. Wheels are from the AMT '56 Ford and tires are AMT parts pack as well as parts bin finds.

Finished this a while back. Basically built box stock errrrr almost. The grill and taillights are custom made as are the traction bars. The paint is Testors one coat Emerald Green with Tamiya Bright White Stripes. The white letters are Goffer decals. Nice kit over all. The only problems I had were my over thinking certain things during the build. LOL Anyway, that is all. On to the pics.

WOW!!!!! That is AWESOME!

As many issues as I have of this kit including the newest release, I have yet to build it. LOL! Looks great in that color. Great job!

Completed in just a hair over 14hrs. The color is Tamiya metallic blue over Tamiya bright white. The stripes (not the number plaque) are painted. The 24 represents not only the 24 hr build but also the year. No name other than my own is associated with this car. LOL!
I have to say this was way out of my realm but, it was a fun build.
Please note, the tractor was built after the 24hr deadline.
