Great builds, Jeff!

Hi folks - new member here. I've already made a few other posts, but thought I'd introduce here myself anyway. I've been a lurker here for awhile, but decided to get back into the hobby and start building. I guess the last build I did was back when I was 12 (65 now). I grew up on Long Island and my parents used to take us to the drag races at National Speedway (including the Spring Nationals when they used to hold them there) when I was a kid. From then on, I was obsessed with drag cars. I started building Pro Stocks, Top Fuel and Funny cars straight from the kits when I was 9 years old. Eventually I started trying to detail the engines a bit more, but never got that far with it beyond spark plug wires. I sort of drifted out of building when i took up the guitar and got really into playing in bands. Anyway, I've been reading and learning from the many talented people here and have put together a little area in the garage to start building again. I bought some tools and some parts and I'm going to try to build a Pro Mod with a scratch brass chassis. We'll see how it goes, but I'm excited to get back into the hobby. Looking forward to feedback and learning from everyone here! Steve

Thanks Francis - I've been following that '72 Dodge Demon Drag Racer you're building - so inspiring! I'd love to get into milling my own parts at some point, but that is quite a bit beyond me at this point. I have been collecting a ton of aftermarket parts - some for this project - some for others, as well as tools, an airbrush (even took a class in how to use it from a local shop). I have quite a bit of detailing stuff to use. Having a ton of fun getting back into building - although I've never attempted anything like this before. i look at it as a great opportunity to learn and i've already learned a lot from this forum just lurking, watching a bunch of YouTube videos and looking at some amazing finished builds.

Hi folks - new member here! I'm just getting back into the hobby after a long break. I think the last time I build a model kit was when I was 12 (I'm 65 now 😃). I've done a bit of lurking on the forum and decided to join when I started my first build. I'm really a rank amateur so bear with me... I've decided to do a 68 Camaro Pro Mod - something like this: I figured I'd share the build process and maybe get some help from the talented folks here along the way! I have really good soldering skills for electrical circuits, so I decided to scratch build the chassis from brass tubing. I'm learning that soldering brass tubes together is quite a bit different than soldering the PCBs for the guitar amps I built for years. Anyway, here is where I am now: I'll sand and clean up the solder joints before adding more. Anyway... enjoying the (slow) process. Steve

I received an email from Robert at rbmotion today. All is well and he said he can fill my order in a couple of weeks. There are a lot of orders ahead of mine as demand is high and he’s really the only one doing this. Anyway, looks like no issue here and I just jumped the gun because of the previous posts about him being on a break from awhile ago.

Hi folks, New member here. I just got back into the hobby - haven't built anything since I was a kid (I'm 65 next week). A few days ago I made a rather sizable order (~ $195) @ rbmotion (https://www.rbmotion.shop/). There was no indication anywhere on the site that they were not in business or not taking orders and the checkout function worked and allowed me to pay via Venmo. I got a confirmation email after my purchase. I wouldn't even be thinking about this since it's only been aa few days, however, I saw a thread here where it seemed that the owner of rbmotion was taking a break until January 2025 or possibly later. Has anyone ordered from rbmotion since the break? Does anyone know if he is back in business? I assume so, since it would seem bad form to leave a working checkout function on the website and no notification of a break. I've emailed the yahoo email provided in my confirmation email from my purchase, but did not hear back. Just looking to get some information here if anyone is in the know. Thanks in advance for any info! And just for the heck of it, here is what I'm working on: Steve
