This is the Waverider S10 but I don't care for all the kit options. The taillights have been filled with new holes cut into the rolled pan. One of the front bumper options was used but cut down and is being molded into the body. The interior is out of the box and flocked. The chassis is out of the box. The final version will be some flavor of green.

This is the interior for the Lincoln Continental station wagon I'm building. The body will be purple.

Basically an out of the box build except for the wheels/tires from some other kit. Painted with Testor's Inca Gold, Tamiya T13 clear, Model Car Wax. Interior flocked, engine plumbed, BMF.

Sounds we need to boycott Sam's Club. I can understand getting laid off - but over the telephone? That's ridulous! If you want help over there again before November, just let me know. I wouldn't be able to make OCtober 15 - 20 because my Vietnam Veteran group is bringing The Wall to Ocala. You check our website http://vvg9.wordpress.com/ -
I'm not quite as old as dirt, but I do remember the messy wine glasses when I was a busboy at the Last Supper.

Hey guys, work is a 4 letter word and probably shouldn't be used on this forum. Retirement is great! I've done more model work (oops) in the last 10 years than I ever have. What made my model life so much better was finding this forum - really, I mean it! If I didn't have to pull weeds, paint, tend the veggie garden, volunteer cook at the local VFW, do my Veterans activities, ride the Harley, drive the dune buggy, cut the grass, clean windows, wash the truck, etc. I could build models all day long. And you know what? I'm going out to the shop right now to complete my Buick GSX, check the paint on a '63 Lincoln Continental station wagon, check the putty on the Waverider S10, and start the '69 Scrambler.

Can you believe all those boxes full of model kits? Holy cow, was it fun!! There's proof! Lyn has a Subaru Brat. As I recall, the box was open but the bags inside were sealed. So whoop-t-do, contact Lyn for your Subaru. Yo Brandon. Your face looks so white. I thought you would have caught some rays working in the sun. (supposed to be funny) Now that my picture is out I'll probably have to change my email and phone because of all the movie offers from Hollywood. I don't think I'll try to hold my breath though. -
I meant it as a play on your last name. That's what I get for trying to make a joke. There's another post on the forum about a 442. I guess Lindberg came out with a new kit.

I've been doing basically the same stuff that you've been documenting but my models don't look as good as yours. You're doing a terrific tutorial and I look forward to seeing more. Thanks.

We'll see about helping with the Turkey Rod Run. We touched a Subaru Brat in one of the boxes - remember "whoop de do, Branden, here's a Subaru"? Today is National POW/MIA Recognition Day. Lots of my biker & Veterans friends are up in Andersonville, GA at the museum and recognizes about 170 exPOWs. -
Would that be a Hurst 442?

The cheapest way to go would be to put some paint in your mouth (don't swallow it) and puff up your cheeks. Aim face at model and quickly press your cheeks which will force the paint from your mouth onto your model. Yo Nick - can you tell I'm in a terrific mood? Your name came up today at Lyn's storage place. Brandon and I agree that you're an okay person.

WHAT A GREAT TIME!! I had no idea what 3000 model kits would look like - but now I do. WOW. It was sweaty, fun, and exciting sorting the kits out. The anticipation before opening the next box to sort was electric. Brandon, it was terrific meeting you and your Mom. Stay positive! Lyn, it was great meeting you and your Mom and I'd like to thank you for the invitation to work today. I had a great time. November, huh? I have already purchased my ticket for Washington, DC for Veterans Day. I'll be leaving November 8 to make a visit to the troops at Walter Reed, meetings, National Park Service Volunteer at The Wall, ViêtNow pizza party, and more work at The Wall. Then Thursday I turn into the Rolling Thunder - Florida Chapter 7 national conference representative. I get to come home Sunday, November 15 a very tired person, but since attending the dedication of The Wall in 1982, I've missed only 2 years (1983 & 1985). I don't plan missing another Veterans Day at The Wall. And if any of you are going to be in DC for Veterans Day, please find me so I can invite you to our pizza party on the11th. Free pizza & beer at Froggy Bottom - but you need an invitation to get in and I'll have them with me. I'll make it to Daytona as long as it doesn't interfere with my DC trip. And Lyn, thanks again for letting me sweat profusely today. -
Thank you for the positive feedback fellas. My head is swelling. Actually, I just try to do the very best I can on every model. My mind says do one thing but I don't have the abilities to do some of the things I'd like, so I just keep plugging along. But thank you again.

Bob, Could you possibly provide me with the length of the rear fender in inches? Thanks

Video wouldn't run on my PC. Went quickly through the pics - whoever she is in the red outfit, can work on my vehicle anytime. -
Yep. Red transparent 30 lb test fishing line. Anit looks good too on multiple carbs into a fule block. I'm told there's other colors but I haven't gone out shopping yet.
-
Silverado looks good Nick. I like the diamond plate tool box idea and I think you were right to shim up the rear end. Those tools and hardhats look familier - they the ones we traded?
-
Is it me or are the bumpers oversized? Love the color.

Been raining most of the day so I was able to complete my '49 Ford that's rattle can Testor's Deja Blue with 2 coats of Model Car Wax. Headlights & taillights frenched; rolled pans front & rear; Chrysler grill insert; wheels/tires from some other kit; BMF; flocked interior w/ bucket seats and console from the parts bin, polished aluminum steering column w/turn signal lever; kit engine w/tri-power, fishing line used for fuel lines; center windshield post removed.
-
No, never tried mixing different flocking colors together. I suppose it would work, but how would you how much to mix and not waste a bunch?
-
Okay Dave - here's the engine bay and chassis shots. That's a 427 Ford from a Revell Parts Pack. Had to make some engine mounts. I've been using telephone wire coating for spark plug boots but have started using the coating for fuel line connections. Not as fancy as the aluminum pieces available, but cheaper.
