I wanted to build that one myself. I have an old built-up cleaned up and ready to go, but I am having problems getting good info on it, so I am going to do a stock Eliminator.

I got one today. The F-O-R-D lettering is not on the hood, but they included 2 sets in decal form, and the wheels still do not have any lug nuts. It's pretty clean, but it looks like a re-hash of the old kit, with no mods to the cab. I'll give it a closer look, and write a review of how I see it.

I got the glass for a 1/12 Revell Camaro (Thanks Revell), some resin speed parts for the Flathead I am going to install in my '49 Merc Woody, an unbuilt '78 Chevy PU, and one of the '78 Ford Pickups.

I have a couple of unbuilt ones, as well as a White promo, which I intend to do something with. I have a set of Fred Cady '74 Hurst Olds decals, as one of mine was going to be a '74 H/O.

Thank You for the comments, Stan. Just keep it out of the heat and take your time. Looking at your one-to-one, a good friend of mine's father had one like yours, which I like a lot. I have another wagon on the horizon. It's going to ba some sort of mid '60's GM product, and I am not telling what it's going to be. It's been planned out, and I have the goods to do it. I just have to make the time, and do it.

I just got my hands on an unbuilt '78 I bought it primarily for the Rally Wheels, which I am going to use on my '74 Impala Build. I am going to build this one right, detailing it out. 1978 was the first year I sold Chevies, so this kit means something to me. A delership I worked for had a loaded '80 Sportside, which was loaded to the hilt, except that it had the base wheels and tires. The Truck Manager said he ordered it that way, because they intended to do a tire and wheel swap. I plan to put a set of American 200-S Wheels on mine, with a lowered front suspension. I am also going to swap out the bench seat, a set if High-Back buckets like I had on an '81 Demo I had, which I called "The Cowboy de Ville". It was a loaded long bed C-10, with Factory Aluminum Wheels. I had 3 of them for demos. They were so cool and sold well.

Kudos to Revell for making this move. While the concept and subject matter does not appeal to me, there is a place for them amoung us "serious" modelers. Can you say "slump buster"? The concept looks to be similar to the original pre-painted Polar Lights' '65 Coronets and '64 GTO's, only using contemporary cars in their line which are already tooled-up. In the right color with a decent finish, I may be in for a couple myself.

I like that. I have a '69 under construction.

Here you go. In hindsight, I should have went something closer to a Replica Stock build. When I was building this one, I was experimenting with paint finishes. The paint is a custom mixed Orange Lacquer, with blue pearl flip-flop powder in the clear. I massaged the body quite a bit to get everything to fit. This is one of my favorite models.

That is looking pretty good. A few years ago, I picked up a built up '72 Firebird to re-do. It's been cleaned up, much like yours, and most everything was there. Also, I picked up a Resin Trans Am body, with some '70 Firebird Low Back Buckets. I have considered using an MPC '78 Trans Am for the Chassis and running gear. Both have been cleaned up, blocked, and are ready for some sort of assembly. I am considering cutting up a "New Tool" AMT Camaro, and adapting it to the Firebird. The Revell '68 Firebird 400 has a beautiful Pontiac V8/4-speed Combination. When I was in Jr. High School, my home room teacher had a Gold "72 Esprit with a Black Vinyl Roof, and White Interior, which was a nice looking combination. I am looking forward to the finished model. Looking at the work you are putting into it, it's going to look pretty good.
