John,
I am impressed with the work you are doing with this one. I am too a "Barracuda Lover". When I was a kid, a friend of mine got a very nice present from his dad, a '67 Barracuda Fastback in red, with a black interior, 273 Power Pack, and Torqueflite. His dad was into racing, and made a deal with his son. When the temporary tags went dead (20 days), the car would be turned into a race car. The day after they brought it home from the dealer, it received a set of Hooker Fenderwell headers, a Mallory "Rev Pol" ignition system, a set of cheater slicks, and tow tabs welded to the fenders. The car was pretty successful at Aquasco Raceway in MD, as it was very consistant in the brackets. I thought that car was so cool.
I have a couple of Barracuda projects for the future, none of which is nearly as nice as your project. I have a couple of '65's to rebuild, and this '68
which is actually a '69. I had a really ratty built-up '68 glue-bomb, that was unsalvageable. The project started when I bought a Perry's Resin '68 Barracuda Transkit. It was obviously incomplete, so over the years I gathered the parts to make it work. I cut that '68 7-ways to Sunday, and swapped in the '68 pieces to the '69, even going as far as shaving the emblems off, and installing the front and rear clips from the '68 into the '69. I have a set of Keith Marks' decals for it, and with the exception of the wheel covers, this is what I am going for.
I have some Turbine Bronze paint, and a set of '68 specific interior piecs for it..
Your car looks great, and will put my little project to shame. I have to step up my game just to keep up with you.
