  1. I have a thing for Pontiac Bonnevilles, as I have most of the '60's in scale to build. I have a '67 Bonneville Hardtop in primer, that I have not decided on the color. I am leaning towards Dark Blue, with a Black Interior, which should look good on the car. I know that the Royal Plum will be stunning on that car.
  2. I like the idea of this one, as I am a fiend for those mid '60's Corvettes. I have several of the AMT and Revell kits, as well as several ratty bodies, and other parts to build some interesting variations. I may do a '63 fuelie Roadster, as I have an original "annual" with the rotating headlamps. The body has been lightly glue bombed but it has never been painted or sanded, and could be made into a nice model,
  3. Very nice work so far Steven. I want to resume work on my '65 Fury Convertible. I am considering doing it as a Sport Fury, as it has the Bucket Seat interior.I went out of my way, and was able to get a promo interior for the bench front seat. I believe that the sew pattern on the seats are not correct, so I may have to go with plan B, a Sport Fury. I have some reference material, but I may dress it up as a Pace Car, since I have the decals and several pictures of the 1 to 1 I took at Carlisle several years ago. I have an extra 426 Wedge/Torqueflite from a JoHan Chrysler 300 to go in the car. Thanks for the quality work you are doing to these old JoHans. It makes me feel good that I held on to several of them.
  4. I looked at those tires, and they may be passable, as they have kind of a funky shape to them. I will look into a better substitute when I start on it.
  5. Very Nice!!! Makes me glad that I kept my kit.
  6. Wow!!!! That one is very nice. I have one of the hardtops in my stash. A fellow who owned an auto parts shop near a former barber had a Royal Plum '67, with a white vinyl roof and interior. It was not restored, but was in decent shape. I am leaning towards Turquoise with a Black Vinyl roof and interior when I build mine..
  7. Unfortunately, a lot of the vehicles that are used for the newly tooled kits have been "restored", and due to their age, and personal preferences of the restorer, some of the parts put on the vehicle, while it is from the manufacturer, is not necessarily an available option for that particular year, or series of the vehicle. Case in point, the below eye line mirrors and the hubcaps on the Moebius '69 and '70 Ford F100 kits. The mirrors were used on a later year model, even though they fit well, and look quite good on the vehicle, and the hubcaps are 3/4 ton -up items, and not available on the 1/2 ton pickup. I plan to use those caps on a van I would like to do in the near future. I am so ecstatic that these kits are now available.
  8. Hey Bill, Guess what I saw today. An actual in the flesh BMW 850i. It was a dark blue car. I was doing 30 m.p.h. and saw it out of the corner of my eye. I plan to get photos of it. in a few days. Hit me off the board if you need some details.
  9. I have a resin "Old Too"l SS427, and one of the "New Tool" SS427, and have built both. Personally aside from the mount of the glass, I like the new one better. It may not be completely right, but I am happy with mine.
  10. I picked one up today, and it looks like it should go together pretty easy. Back in the day, I sold new Chevrolets, and I had several Monte Carlos of that era as a demonstrator during the 80's. One of my neighbors had an '84 Hurst Olds, which was an interesting car in its own right. personally, I like the '83 better, and I am going to do mine with the gray velour/vinyl interior, which was the other interior trim available on the car. Testors Model Master Dark Cherry Red Lacquer is a very good match for the 1983 GM Dark Red Interior Vinyl Trim, while the velour cloth trim is a shade or two redder, which is the most common interior color for the '83 Hurst Olds, and is the only interior color listed for the '84 Hurst Olds. There is not a lot of reference material on the real car out there n the web, as these cars are fairly rare, but I have found something that will get me the information I need to build one to my standards..
  11. That one is beautiful!!!!!
  12. I welcome the "Rivet Counting", as long as the "counters" know what they are writing about. Most of the time, it makes for a better model kit, and it gives me less work to do. After I finish a couple of projects, I want to get into the Mobieus 1961 Ventura. I have a plan for my build, and after seeing some of the completed builds here on the board, I have an Idea of where I am going on this one.
  13. That one brings back memories. A friend had a red '67 fastback back in the day. It was a 273 Power Pack with a torqueflite. "Day Two could not come fast enough for him, as he and his Dad installed a set of Hooker Fender well Headers, a Mallory Rev-Pol Ignition Box, and a set of Cheater Slicks the day after they brought it home from the dealer, and they were at the track that weekend running the brackets. He came home with the trophy that night too, as he said the car was super consistent, and quick off of the line.
  14. Impressive!!!!!!
  15. That one is a masterwork!!!! If it was not for the slicks, I would bet the farm a slant 6 lived under that hood. My kind of sleeper.
  16. Can we say Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz?
  17. ... and there you go. Bill, you are killing me with this one, as I have one started in the basement. I am thinking of doing it in a dark metallic red, with a light saddle interior.
  18. Thanks for all of the replies on this one, which has a very special place. When I was painting it, I received the call from my uncle that my father passed. I had to finish it in a style that would do him proud. He would have loved it. I just finished another glue-bomb. I hope to photograph it, and post it this weekend. My photo bucket is not working properly, so I have to use another posting site.
  19. I have no problem with most of the kit parts sellers. I do a lot of restorations, and with The Modelhaus closing down, and having a huge backlog, this may be the wave of the future. I tend to seek out new, or lightly used original parts, and the people I buy from has been really helpful to my projects. However, those parts sellers who want ridiculous prices for their parts will not get any of my business .
  20. Looks good to me!
  21. Handsome!!!
  22. I have a R&R Resin '68 Hardtop' which is not too bad.I adapted an AMT '68 Road Runner Chassis and running gear. I also did the same thing to a R&R '68 Charger R/T and a Modelhaus '70 Charger R/T. None of them are built yet, just awaiting their turn.
