Virgil, tha van was shortened CONSIDERABLY through the middle . I knew a guy in the old Metroplex, ( Dallas Texas ) Van club that did one . he had to run "Wheelie Bars " on it as i fwhen ya took yer foot off the clutch the motor's torque would litterly make the van come off the front at a light . Ed Shaver
I have attempted using Aluminites products with several problems all over the rainbow . I certainly could / would not recomend anything they make as the resin itself had inconsistent dry times , their rubber is too soft and the overall time used in working with their products has produced inconsistent parts ............... Ed Shaver
How about if I told ya'all there is s guy on Primarily Petrolinia .com that makes life size replicas of antique gasoline pumps out of M D F , uh furniture grade particle board .............. Yes , models can be of any form and size . Ed Shaver
Harry makes an excellent point as to some of the Die casts looking "Toyish". With that in mind , Harry also continues to reinforce his arguments with the Mints versions of models we have all seen . Now not everyone here has disposable income to allow for such models in their collection . Then too, Look at Masitio, a big wholesaler of inexpensive and halfway decent looking cars and trucks . For the most part , most of their stuff is havable , ( My version ). No one but them has done the Dodge Diplimats s far as I know .
As far as me buying a Diecast over a styereene kit , only if it can not be purchaced first as a plastic kit . Ed Shaver
I dunno about the kits , but the actual car shared most of it's Mercury Cougar and Ford Thunderbird parts in real life . My former business partner owned such a car and I would have to work on it's air bags often ................. Ed Shaver
Got a phone call from my hobby dealer telling me that the Chevrolet vans had arived via U P S . I haven't picked up my van as yet as my expense check is delayed yet again for the month . Soon as I get some money, Ill go check it out an see ........... Meanwhile , I'm going to be doing mine as the van I used in Houston to deliver products with , Yeah "Cheap magnetic signs" that said Art- Forms design 7676 North Freeway #603-5. . Well, thats what my van had . Ed Shaver
Pay attention some of you diorama builders ! Yes , I'm speaking to you that build these "Squeeky clean - SUPER SANITARY garages that are on television, not in the "REAL WORLD". Manny has got it goin on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
Tom Mc Cahill of Mechanix Illistrated magazine rated this car one of the best he had ever tested in his day . I know , I owned two of them ......... Ed Shaver
Tom, it's relitively easy to convert into a fourdoor . Simply move the "B " post back about a 16th. Scribe the back door and done with a rescribe on the front ...........
As to Chevrolet having anything outside of a sedan in the Bel Air series , in 62, just the Bubble tops and they were pilliarless as the tops were a result of left over stock in 1961.

Tim, this a HOBBY, not a cult , a religion or a contest to inflate egoes . I know some here indulge in such practices . However , if somone here likes what I have , FINE , if not , fine too................ Ed Shaver
