  1. I always love Future as a topic. I apply it after the car's been cleared with the real stuff. I use this... I use Duplicolor clear (enamel in a spray can) and it works great. Polish out the enamel first, get it as pretty as you can and then apply 1 coat of Future using a brush. I've airbrushed Future on this car... and I wouldn't say it was great. It made the white/yellow/orange turn into one colour, that's for sure! (I use Creatix AutoAir colors) I've also found that certain enamels react badly with the Future. I think I used high heat enamel on one car and after applying the Future it all started to get major spider webs across the entire body. Nuts! A little Windex and some hard scrubbing and it came off. So it is a good idea to be careful what you're applying it over. Lacquer probably isn't an issue. So, anyway, I was gonna show an example of what Future does. This car started out looking pretty good. Not great, but good. I decided I'd try polishing it as it's from my pre polishing kit days. It didn't look too bad after polishing, better than before, but then I got to thinking. What would Future do? I'd tried it on a few other new builds, so I brushed one coat on this too and wow what a difference it makes! I think the pics speak for themselves. this is before During... And after...(fender has Future, door just polished) I hope that helps a little. I was told by another builder to try an industrial floor polish. He uses it as his only clear and it looks from what I've seen of his builds to be excellent stuff. Can't remember the name of it though. In any case, Future is probably best used as a clear over a real clear. That's my 2 cents anyway.
  2. Yeah, I know...and I work in insurance...and did this on the basement floor...hehe. Thanks for the compliments fellas.
  3. LOL...good one. Wish I lived in Hawaii so I didn't know what it was either.
  4. Duplicolor...the stuff that changes from purple to a goldish brown sort of color. Forget what it's called. I also forgot about the cars in my kids rooms I never took pics of. He's got about 10-15 more in there. LOL...too much glue and paint over spray!
  5. I figured that one deserved a full set. After which I've done these. And I think that's it. Except for teh one I have that's been stripped and is waiting for a re-paint. It may be a while. this to this A couple of Goats Some Mustangs A Buick powered by a turbo'd 50 Chevy truck engine (the Buick's engine went into the flamed 50 Chevy) & a Merc (check Fluevog on Google images...it was inspired by that, but doesn't look as cool when done.) And that's about it! Hard to believe that's an hour or so out of my day! Thanks for looking!
  6. Lessee...we're (uh, I mean I'm) getting to my newest builds. The ones where I tried a little harder. Polished the paint (polishing kit best investment I ever made! Duh!) and learned which clears Future works over and which not. Done right, brushed on, wow, that stuff makes the paint look nice. Do it wrong, Windex and do-over! ok, this is one I built for a friend, and I think it's where I peaked, or is that piqued? Either way, ever since this double build I think I've lost some enthusiasm, 'cause I don't think I can come close again. It's also where I started off with a polishing kit. I wish I could have told him the dog ate them. LOL This is the 'before' This is after...
  7. I always wanted to paint flames...this might not be a great way to start One of my favorites... Photoshop is fun too
  8. This one I actually built a few years ago, but took it down, took a polishing kit to it and gave it a coat of Future. chopped Woody...oops! Wrong way. Miami Vice
  9. I'm having trouble remembering what order I did them all in...here's a few more 1st bike Camaros...1 stock 1 not...with a horrible flame job and a Studebaker supercharged V-8 1 inspired by the movie...
  10. First ghost flame job First mass BMF effort I think that takes care of one year, or the last half of a year where I picked up again.
  11. I didn't see a spot to introduce oneself, and honestly I'm not one to go about getting all mushy and telling my life story, so I won't. I'm sure others here are members of other forums and I probably know them when I see their work, and they'll know me when they see mine. I thought I'd share a few...ok, many of my builds over the last couple of years. I'll try to keep them in chronological order, sort of when I got back into it to present. I've improved in areas, and haven't made progress in many more that I should have. Time doesn't always work out like ya want. Last year, or maybe the year before I was hammering out a kit every 2 - 3 weeks. So far this year...well Ive been working on one for a month and it's a no brainer. Anyway, on with the show! Hope this is ok as far as protocol goes...if not I could start a new thread for every kit, but that would become time consuming...(Never said I don't like to talk, just not about myself so much . 53 Studebaker John Deere truck for my then 10 yr old
