Beautiful build. It brings back fond memories of a '72 that I owned long ago. Mine was blue with the white graphics.

Nice job. Love the "old" racers. Yours looks awesome. As a side note, I live in Roanoke, Va, where Curtis was from. Never met him though.

Thanks, I will keep an eye on those...

Awesome builds!
I am always surprised by the relatively small number of historic trans-am series models that get built, and the lack of trans-am series specific kits.
A good source for the 67 Cougar (body, at least) is the Model King funny car. You would have to come up with a chassis and interior, but a 67 mustang might fit the bill for a donor kit, especially if you're gonna cut it up to make a race car any way.
Thanks, I was thinking of that kit, Is the body "normal"? I have a chassis and interior from a Mustang.

Some engine pics.

You can go to "historictransam.com" to see lots of photos.

Thanks. They are basic kits from Revell, AMT etc. The Javelin is an old Jo-han kit from the '70's. I scratch built some items, ex: roll cages, dash instruments etc. Decals are Fred Cady. I have WIP photos and engine photos available. I still want to build a '67 Cougar, but can't find one at a reasonable price.

Here is my Trans-am stable from the 60's and 70's

Thanks for all the comments. With regard to the seatbelts; that was a WIP photo, more belts were added later.

One I did a while back. Reworked the grill opening and installed Cobra grill, pancaked the hood and installed hood pins, Frenched the headlights and finished off in Lime Ice & gloss black.

Gotta love those Cobras!!! Nice work..

This was my inspiration.

Body was sectioned from the front and leaned forward to give it a lower profile. Rescribed the doors and changed to "suicide" style. Hood was pancaked and hinged from the side. Console and seats from a '70 Challenger.

Next time park that thing in a garage, and some naval jelly will do wonders on that rust. ........ awesome job!!!!!!!

The dice are a nice touch...did you make 'em?
Thanks, everyone. The dice are available in different colors from "Scale Dreams.com"
