I really don't know what to say..Today at 3:45 Eastern Standard Time, My good friend Quint Stires died.. He was only 48.. He suffered from stage 4 Thyroid cancer. He has two sons Mike age 14 and James age 16,, He didn't even get to see them graduate high school! He was best known in the automotible hobby as the GTOAA 1970 Pontiac GTO technical advisor.. My prayers go out to his family, he was too young

Nice model, a few things pop out that make me guess that; why are the side mirrors painted yellow? Why are the gauges missing the face details to them, and why is the white area not disrupted like it would be on a real car(missing the shading in of the door lines).. Also, if that is a Ferarri, then why does it say Fiat on the side?

That is awesome! I have always been fond of this body style!

That engine looks beautiful! I have always loved the first gen Monte's, not too many around.. Keep up the great work!

Hi guys,
Last year, somebody handed me a box over with all sorts of muscle car kits from the early eighties, mostly MPC and Monogram.
As I am not looking into selling them, but building them, I do however have one question;
Between those kits I have a 1979 MPC kit still shrinkwrapped of the General Lee '69 Charger. Is this kit worth extra money? Should I take care of it?
As I mentioned, I am not looking for selling, but if it is worth a lot, I might consider and invest the money on other kits
But no, this topic is not a covered up ad, I genuinly have no idea of the value of this kit.
Well Steef, considering that the kit has been reissued a dozen or so times, and that the model itself is the wrong bodystyle, I would say it really has no value, howevr, since it is still shrinkwrapped, it may be special, mabe $15-$20.. If it is the original issue, I know there are people out there who collect vintage box art.. BTW, I never really consider a kit rare, Think about it, the make hundreds of thousands mabe even mllions of kits, and then you have to figure that they have all been reissued, at least once in some form or another..Rare is a tough one..What some may consider 'rare" others may not..

Pinto Pangra, a limited production car sold by Huntington Ford.
There was a Pinto around here that had a Rolls Royce style grille and a rear continental kit..

Thanks for the tip Mark, but I have already made up my mind to do my conversion.. I can always combine it with the 1972 Pontiac GTO.. Besides, I do not like to work with resin, unless it is the easy stuff like spoilers...I am only 14...I have plans to hack the wheel wells out of the '72 Goat and do a swap and put them on the 1970.. Do you have any pictures of what's inside of the box? I would like to see the body before I buy the kit so I can print it and make notes as for what to do.. Thank you for the help! Nothing that styrene, putty and a few X-acto blades can't fix!

Excellent! Thank you both! I am going to convert it into a stock 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air III.. What would you reccomend for a chassis? I have been thinking about the AMT '69 Oldsmobile Cutlass, But then I remembered that the Revell 1966 Pontiac GTO has a nice chassis as well... Which should I use, I want this replica to be as accurate as it can be..

Heres a preview pic from the Dream Cruise.. It was on preorder for 32 bucks..
Is it me or does the roof look a little off around the windshield area?

Good luck on this one! Did you ever see Wheel to Wheel Powertrain's '72 nova sleeper? it was the perfect sleeper, but a 4 door would have been more stealthy and they went with poverty caps and blackwalls when full hubcaps and white stripes would have made it ever more bada$$! You ought to resin cast this body, I think it would be a hit!

That is awesome! around '06 I drew something similar to that..I was in sixth grade then and so ny drawings weren't all that great, but if you want, I will try and get a pic of it up here..

That car is BEAUTIFUL!! I am glad that at least one of those model Road Runner's was kept from being bashed with the '71 Charger! It is very refreshing to see one built almost box stock!
