  1. That paint needs some serious compounding! Very nicely done. Charlie Larkin
  2. Wait another twenty years.... Last Friday was my twentieth high school class reunion. About a week before, I was sitting thinking to myself "has it REALLY been this long??" Hope you enjoyed your birthday, Niko. And enjoy the time ahead- it goes by quick. Charlie Larkin
  3. Ginger turkey enchiladas? Hmmm....scary thing is I know someone who's nuts enough to actually try making that (no, not me). Charlie Larkin
  4. I LOVE it! Charlie Larkin
  5. I'm about halfway there, if you want to meet up- happy to drive. I remember a couple of times at my FSC days that I had to go to Taunton after classes for DeMolay stuff. I was able to do it in just over an hour, so it's not too bad. Charlie Larkin
  6. Adam, what did you use for the interior color? That looks as close to camel/buckskin as I've ever seen. Charlie Larkin
  7. Very nice, Terry. A plain-Jane truck if ever there was one. Charlie Larkin
  8. Get well soon! Charlie Larkin
  9. It's a creative exercise, that's for sure. The break between the two paint-jobs is very clean. Whether anyone "likes" it or not, nobody can deny your usual clean, well-done building, Al. Charlie Larkin
  10. Outstanding. Hope to see it as MassCar's show. Charlie Larkin
  11. Pat, I love it! Please bring that MassCar's show on March 16 in Taunton. That level of workmanship will be very well-received. Charlie Larkin
  12. Luis, I'm very impressed. That flame work is awesome, and the rest of this is coming up beatifully. You've also convinced me to pick a bottle or two of Vallejo up. Keep it comin'! Charlie Larkin
  13. I had my 20th high school reunion Friday evening, and a lot of my classmates are now teaching kindergarten. I'll need to find a way to send that to them. Charlie Larkin
  14. Plasti-Kote is indeed owned by Valspar. The rest of the products not withstanding, the Plasti-Kote line still seems to be essentially the same stuff, just in a new can with a screwy nozzle. I suspect that nozzle is what's causing the lay-down issues. It took me a few passes to get used to that new nozzle, but I haven't had any issues personally and still vastly prefer Plasti-Kote primer to Dupli-Color primer. Now, the new Dupli-Color "Color Match" paints I've used have been awful. I can't get a good paint job out of the can. I'm going to try decanting some into my airbrush and see if that helps the problem. Charlie Larkin
  15. Although I haven't tried this personally with anything, my recommendation would be to cut the floor out of the original interior bucket, then the front header, and then mount the modified "U" to the platform-style floor. I may have to do something like this with my Wildcat to get the interior painted if I can't get it disassembled, but I would suggest trying this on a less-valuable interior bucket first to get the technique right. Charlie Larkin
  16. That'll be a handful to put together, but it looks like a superb model. Charlie Larkin
  17. So, in other words, that just became what might very well be the most expensive model you ever buy? What cost $350- something small and shiny? Charlie Larkin
  18. I took advantage of the Thanksgiving Weekend sale at ScaleFinishes and just ordered some paint. Charlie Larkin
  19. The site seems to be down at the moment, but I'll check back later. Thanks, Bernard. Charlie Larkin
  20. Very nice, Terry. The toolboxes are nicely-built. Very realistic. Charlie Larkin
  21. Very nice job, especially on the garage. Charlie Larkin
  22. This is shaping up beautifully. Charlie Larkin
  23. That looks really good Mike! Wheels- for the whole high-tech thing, perhaps something to represent polished aluminum? I understand Metalizer Aluminum Plate does a pretty good job at that. Perhaps some charcoal accents for them, such as the rim lips and hubs? Charlie Larkin
  24. Nice score. Dumpster-diving can have its advantages. Charlie Larkin
