Very nice, Jeff. I would like to invite you to bring that to MassCar on March 17 for our contest. It's only up the road in Taunton at the Holiday Inn. Registration is 9-noon. As to your picture trouble, I would suggest opening a Photobucket or similar service, and using the codes to post pictures. There are only so many pictures you can post directly from your MCM account. If you're not aware of us already, MassCar meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month. We recently moved to 45 West St, Medfield, which is immediately off of Rt. 27. Take 495 to Rt. 109 in Milford (or, if you want to gamble with 24 and 128, take 128 north to 109 East), and follow 109 into Medfield. At Rt. 27, turn left (if coming from 495) or right (if coming from 128) and follow to the 3rd light at an optics company. Turn right onto West St., and we meet in the big metal building housing a gymnastics studio and a landscaper. Go into the landscaper's office and up the stairs to the loft. Meeting starts at 7:00, someone's usually there by about 6:00. Charlie Larkin

That looks great, Dominik! I especially like the vinyl top, which on the fastbacks, at least from what I've seen, aren't very common. Interesting point about 4-lug wheels on the 200s, Tom, I never knew that. Charlie Larkin

Your stuff is very, very cool, Kenn. I love watching what you come up with. Charlie Larkin

Camaro is American again
charlie8575 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The key thing is taking pride in your work. I always tried to instill that in my students, my classmates, and everyone else where doing so was relevant and I was involved. It doesn't matter if you're making wood pellets, computers, cars, battle ships or putty knives. If you don't care about what you're doing and it shows in the product, you and your customer both suffer the consequences. Americans, historically, have taken pride in their work. Even during the social upheaval of the 1960s and '70s that brought the traditional values of work and integrity in the same into question, and then brought them low, caring about what you do is most important. What it is you care about what you're doing is, in a real sense, secondary. Charlie Larkin -

Cute kitty! Nice paint, too. I plan on using some of that stuff for my interiors. Charlie Larkin -
VERY nice indeed. Charlie Larkin

Nice, Brett. Where did you scavenge that GM X-Frame out of? I can't think of any model that has that fully separate. If not, you did a really nice job separating it from the floors. Charlie Larkin

That's shaping up very nicely, John. I'll enjoy watching this one come together. Charlie Larkin -
I think box art that is visually appealing is important. After all, it helps sell the product in the box. And a good piece of box art really can be considered fine art in its own respect, whether drawn or photographic. What I think is more important, though, is an accurate depiction of what you get in the box. I like the idea of a picture on the side with all the tress up close, or on the bottom, blown up enough so you can see exactly what you're getting. Charlie Larkin

You can thank the EPA, nanny-staters and other malcontents who are afraid of noise. While noise is a concern, some noises are not at all offensive. A good aftermarket exhaust system, however, can fix that problem very quickly, and usually not for too much money. Beautiful! Charlie Larkin -
Nice job on that. For a real challenge, I'd like to see someone do a Century 4-door with the goofy lock setup and the super-long integrated pontoon fenders. Oh, and someone to say "Who loves ya, baby?" wouldn't hurt, either! Charlie Larkin

You'll get there. With competent physicians, good therapists (and if she's nice and cute, that makes the hurt SO much less!), and allowing yourself adequate time to recover, you'll make it through just fine. May the doctors have their dexterity and may your fears be fully allayed. Charlie Larkin

Anyone have any good snow pictures today?

It's not as bad as it looks, and with the 40s and rain most of the week, it won't be a problem too long. These is my personal favorites of the whole roll. The Wayside Inn Village Grist Mill on the Marlborough/Sudbury line (other side of town from me), built in 1929 to replicate an 18th-Century grist mill one might have seen in New England. The Martha-Mary Chapel, also at Wayside Inn Village. Built in 1940, this is a non-denominational chapel used mostly for weddings, and is meant to emulate an 18th-Century New England church (not like we don't have enough of them, but most are still owned by their distinct congregations). Henry Ford, you might find it interesting, helped to underwrite the building and rebuilding of Wayside Inn Village and the restoration of The Wayside Inn. Yes, that Wayside Inn of Longfellow fame. I didn't go that far down the road, though, but you can see a little bit of it peeking out in this picture. I wish the sun hadn't gone down as quick, the picture of City Hall looked really nice in the viewfinder! Charlie Larkin -
I found my Gremlin has a very badly-warped chassis plate. I haven't really played with it otherwise. I need to do that. I'll be interested to see what you come up with with yours. Charlie Larkin

My Own Hobby Shop

Very cool kit. I like the Walthers Cornerstone kits, and have a few of them. Someday, when I have my trains up again (and the room for them), they'll be used to dot my layout with a variety of objects and structures. Charlie Larkin -

S10s
charlie8575 replied to Pullin Gears's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
You brush-painted and polished that ZR-2?? Wow, that polished out nicely. (I ask as I interpret "hand-painted" as using a paint brush vs. can or airbrush). Both of those came out nicely. The 409-powered S-10 will be fun to consider. Charlie Larkin -
Oh yes we did. I ended up going out for a while to visit a handicapped friend who doesn't deal well with isolation for long periods, and the roads weren't too bad. I took some time to drive around town and took some pictures. I'll get the film developed tomorrow and post the photos to Photobucket. Charlie Larkin
