  1. Nice car, Steve. Thanks for the link on that. Charlie Larkin
  2. Hmmm....dunno, that metallic taste might not work so well with the root beer! Actually, that sounds pretty good, Chris. I'll enjoy seeing what happens when you get it on the body. I like the visor and the cleanup so far. Charlie Larkin
  3. Nice job simulating the undercoating look on the floorpan. I always tend to be "thorough," and do it like a good workman would have and get it all, including the tunnel. The gold engine looks vaguely 371-394. I like the Riviera air-cleaner on that, too. Nice interior remodeling. I'm not a big custom guy and like Jim, I prefer a little gloss, but this is coming out very nicely, and so far is a model to be proud of. Charlie Larkin
  4. Looking nice, Mike. Hope your post-snow clean-up is going well. Charlie Larkin
  5. A great neighbor who finished up our driveway for us after the Blizzard of '13. Thanks, Steve! Charlie Larkin
  6. Criminy, that thing is ancient! What year is it? Almost every Japanese car that vintage around here would've turn to a pile of rusty dust years ago, I'm surprised that didn't happen in Finland of all places. Charlie Larkin
  7. Well, our neighbor stopped by with his W3500 and cleared the end of the driveway and about 95% of what else was left. It was scary for a moment when he actually got stuck in our driveway! I then moved the car and cleaned that up. Dad's is at the shop, so that was one less to work around. Drive ban will be lifted at 4:00 and I'm going to go out and get some more pictures. Charlie Larkin
  8. We ended up with around 30". Even though it's light snow, removing it is exhausting even with a snow-thrower by virtue of the huge volume. I'll take some pictures. As soon as I can get to CVS to get them developed, I'll share. The travel ban will be lifted at 4:00 P.M., which is good. I'm getting a little cabin fever. Mike- glad to see your wife got home okay. Did you trade your Infiniti for the Countryman? And how do you like it? Mark- LOVE the picture! I saved a copy for myself. Charlie Larkin
  9. Beautiful work! And I really like the color. What did you use? I've bookmarked your album so I can go through it in more detail later. Charlie Larkin
  10. I can't get into the wheels, but the rest of it is very, very nice. That photo used for your background is super. Charlie Larkin
  11. When AMT released the '55 2-door sedan, SAE had an article on a build-up, and in it was how to duplicate the original Coral paint, using a mix of Testors orange, black and white. I don't remember the ratio, but it looked convincing. This looks very good. I agree with Rich, some brushed-on Dullcote or similar product would fix that glossy interior right up. Charlie Larkin
  12. A lovely tribute. Charlie Larkin
  13. Personally, I'd like to see that AMT Model A Tudor get re-issued. I love Model As. Were it not for the mechanical brakes, I'd seriously drive one every day in the nice weather. A lot of members of the Minuteman Model A Club do exactly that. It's always so nice to see them on cruise- 20-30 Model As in a line in all most body styles and colors. Charlie Larkin
  14. The entire City of Quincy is blacked out. Will be until tomorrow. The roads are so bad, they won't even send out the power trucks. Most of our outages are on the South Shore of Boston, which is actually helpful, as it'll make getting things running again a lot faster. Charlie Larkin
  15. It's a little hard to say to account for the blowing. According to the news, Framingham, the next town over, has 14" officially. I'd say when it's all done, we're going to get around 20-22". Track all the fun here! http://boston.cbslocal.com/ Charlie Larkin
  16. I just looked outside the door...after it blew open. Screw it, I'll wait until tomorrow. Charlie Larkin
  17. You'd be better off using the six from the Trumpeter Nova. The 1960 engine is quite different. A couple of people cast those engines. Escort Resin is one. Don's a nice guy and a pretty decent caster. I think someone else does, too. Charlie Larkin
  18. That is really nice, Harry. Charlie Larkin
  19. Neat idea, Ron. I'll keep an eye on this one. Charlie Larkin
  20. I just looked out the door. I kinda wish I hadn't. I'll probably go out in a little while and clear some. At least the electric snow-thrower Dad bought works pretty decent. He was able to get about four spots equivalent cleared in about ten minutes with about three or four inches on the ground. Looking out the door, I'd say we have about 8 or 10 right now. Mike- did your wife get home safe? Charlie Larkin
  21. That's nice and clean. The color combination works well on it, too. Charlie Larkin
  22. The Tamiya clear blue does a pretty convincing job of simulating the Soft-Ray tinted glass. Overall a very nice build. There's something to be said for curbside kits that assemble quickly. Charlie Larkin
  23. That came out very nicely. The color suits it well, too. Charlie Larkin
  24. I voted for the pickup, but I'd be happy with any of them...IF and ONLY IF a stock build option is available. I agree with Bill's call; stock with up-gradable components to period-correct rods is crucial to have any real further sales success. Charlie Larkin
  25. We have around 3-4 inches here right now. Dad and I will probably go out and do some shoveling a little later. Charlie Larkin
