I love Edsels, and that one is really nice. The gas station is nice, too, even if you can't take the credit for it. For curiosity's sake, about how big is that gas station? Charlie Larkin

School bus question

Cookout at a show? I'm going to have to make it down there some year. When do you usually have it? Might be a nice long-weekend escape from the cold of the winter here. Charlie Larkin -
School bus question

Try roughly eleven years of teaching. You'll drink all the whine you want and then some. Now, if you want to drink wine, your local adult education programs and night schools at your area vocational schools frequently have wine appreciation nights. Many local packies have them, too. For the record, the buses around here are still yellow with black accents. Charlie Larkin -

Nice color, very well-executed builds, Ron. Charlie Larkin -
That looks good, Sam. Who makes an acrylic paint marker? I'm definitely interested in trying that for WWWs and possibly narrow-whites, too. Charlie Larkin

This is looking real good. I think I'm going to try wiring my '50 Olds; time to move beyond high school building. Heck, it took me long enough to figure out how to use BMF (ask Dana about my dry-brushing scripts). Charlie Larkin

Revell 1957 Chevrolet 150 Utility Sedan - Finished!

I've never been able to figure out what color I want to do my 150 in. I'm probably going to do mine in Harbor Blue or something like that. I'm also toying with solid silver. You have a nice building style and I like what you do with your builds. Charlie Larkin -
Nice progress Mike. The white/copper interior looks good. This is going to be a sharp build at MassCar's show in March. I do hope you'll be able to bring it. Charlie Larkin

Hmmm...single-plane intake with a VERY big carb opening. Methinks Mark has plans for a drag-racer in the not-too-distant future. Charlie Larkin

Very nice job on that interior. That's the one thing I really dread about the Pontiacs of that vintage. What did you use for colors in it? Nicely done. Charlie Larkin

Different. I like it. Charlie Larkin

10-4 on a thumbs down on the rims. The rest of it....not bad at all. Fords of that vintage look good in that green. Put the stock wheels or a nice set of Cragars on it, and I'd be happy to have that on my shelf. Charlie Larkin

Impressive work on this so far. The side-trim is executed beautifully. Charlie Larkin

Over the last couple of weeks... A 1976 Gremlin. With a badly-warped chassis. I'll be trying the hot water thing to fix that soon. A couple of bottles of paint I needed for the Ford and Olds (Testors new Model Master Metallic Gray and a bottle of Anthracite Gray Met., both of which are good matches for the interior painted surfaces). A pack of X-Acto #17 chisel blades to remove evil chassis lettering. I also got a couple of neat books on 1920s residential architecture, one of which has some really nice garages that are giving me ideas. Charlie Larkin

Hi, Scott. I've been sifting through some brochures, and I can't find any evidence of quad-headlight Fairmont wagons (unless perhaps 1981-82?), but from what I remember, all the Zephyrs had quads. As a thought, talk with your contacts at Ford. They would be able to tell you definitely, and where one of the their goals through all the licensing and such is to protect the integrity of their image and the integrity of their products, I think it would not take much persuading to help you. The one-pint cartons of milk at school have a series of really corny, bad, horrible jokes on them. One of the little "gems" read "Why is a bowl of pasta smart?" "Because it uses its noodle." I heard that once; that was enough. My precious seventh graders didn't get that. So I came back with one I thought of on the fly. Me: "Why is pasta like a teenager?" Insipid 12-y/o: "I dunno, Mr. Larkin." Me: "It's all ziti". (pronounce it "zitty"). Those who got it almost fell out of their seats laughing. Those that didn't...the look on their face was priceless. I love giving it back to them when I can. Charlie Larkin

My games are played on boards and stored in boxes. I barely have patience enough for a computer, nevermind any of these things. Charlie Larkin

That Brandywine looks very close to Madiera Maroon, perhaps a bit more metallic, but still looks great on that car. Full-size Chevrolets of the 1960s are among my favorite subjects, and you did this one very nicely. Charlie Larkin

That black paint is spectacular. I really like this build. Charlie Larkin

Other than those wheels (ICK! 20-inchers belong on pre-WW2 cars and big trucks), I really like this one. Charlie Larkin
