  1. The blues used are called Electric Blue and French Blue. Testors and Humbrol both offer French Blue, although I don't think either are particularly close to the Massachusetts cruisers; if I had to pick one, I'd say use the Humbrol which is a tad closer. Tamiya also has a French Blue spray. For the Electric Blue, I'd start with Testors Bright Blue #10 Pla enamel (the little bottles,) and add a little black. Or, MCW can make you a bottle of each. 2. Art- second for those pictures, please. Photobucket/Fotki is fine with me. Dave Espo- thanks for the recount as a 1:1 owner. That's very helpful. Dave Manley- I'll look forward to the pictures. I'm still waiting for the Corvette and this to show up at my shop. Charlie Larkin
  3. According to the '51 Ford the State Police have, it was a blue globe, Wayne. I would say you can use that and be fairly safe. http://mysite.verizon.net/vzeopzls/policecars/id11.html Charlie Larkin
  4. That cinches it. I'll order one of these, too. Any feel for price? Charlie Larkin
  5. I needed a laugh. Charlie Larkin
  6. Perhaps I can use this to justify starting a model club at school? Worth a shot. Charlie Larkin
  7. Very nice work, and good repair job on that fender. This is going to be an absolute beauty when finished. Charlie Larkin
  8. Wow. What a mess. The devastation is incredible. That house is something; I don't think I've ever seen a house stay standing with damage like that. Says something for its construction quality. I hope the people and business there make a swift and full recovery. Charlie Larkin
  9. Oops, didn't see that. The reflection in the picture. Does anyone have any more pictures of this car, preferably straight-on broadside? You might be able to cobble up some decals with MS Paint, GIMP or Open Office Draw. Charlie Larkin
  10. I kinda like that white/red; even the solid red looks nice. I might do that for mine. Charlie Larkin
  11. The red intake runners and valve covers look very good, Mike. Nice detail for this. Charlie Larkin
  12. Are those whitewalls the ones that Don specifically tooled up for the kit, or are those one of his standard offerings? Those look good for this. I might add them to my rep-stock. Charlie Larkin
  13. Looks nice. I'd probably have it printed by a photo-lab with the good inks and paper and then assemble it on some foam-board or very thin plywood. Thanks for linking this up. I used http://www.jzip.com/ to open it. This installed quickly and works very, very easily. Charlie Larkin
  14. Looks great, Chris. I like the door recess and the doors. Very, very well done. Charlie Larkin
  15. It does have a Wayfarer look to it. Very nice execution. Charlie Larkin
  16. I like that Lyle. Very smooth and nicely-executed. I think without question this is one of the most versatile kits that's been issued in a very, very long time. Charlie Larkin
  17. Beautiful execution, excellent color choice. Charlie Larkin
  18. Nicely done. That kit is on my "acquire list." Charlie Larkin
  19. I think The Modelhaus makes the GP convertible- a VERY rare, one-year-only model. The Hurst decal shouldn't be too tough to turn up, although I'm not sure if one that size is readily available- perhaps a 1/16 drag/race car sponsor decal would be about right? The black/gold two-tone can be accomplished pretty easily with either spray can or airbrush. I've never seen that car before- I do like it and I'd build one, too. Charlie Larkin
  20. Gorgeous! Charlie Larkin
  21. That Make It Seude looks really good for an interior finish. And the color you mixed up looks about right for the Saddle Mist. Very, very nice build. Charlie Larkin
  22. Subject not withstanding, Bernard, I know it'll be a great build. In place of the small-block, if you have that Cadillac V-8 from the Merc, I'd drop that right in there for a little extra scoot something a little different. Charlie Larkin
  23. The answer....and here comes my legal training into play, is, "it depends." If it's a really cool kit that probably wouldn't be cut as an all-new tool now, yes, I'd like to see it restored. Or if the original kit was really well-done. Similarly, if we need an all-new kit because it was either never done or the existing molds are an engineering horror show for whatever reason (missing parts, done really wrong initially, screwed up by some variation,) then cut the mold. Example of really well-done and that I'd like to see come back- the Monogram and MPC classics. I love those kits. Charlie Larkin
  24. I'll be taking one of each, please. I wonder how best to make the decals for the Laguna? Charlie Larkin
  25. You're quite welcome, Billy. Your work came out very nicely. Looking forward to the end product. Charlie Larkin
