  1. I'll probably paint the tires myself, but I might be willing to entertain a set of Modelhaus tires. Those decals...I dunno, they just don't look like they'll do the job From talking to a couple of people that were tinkering with the kit already, they don't look too convincing, apparently. Perhaps, if you don't want to pop for a set of tires, the best approach would be to paint on the whitewalls with the decals for a little extra appearance enhancement? I guess the black still comes through a little. Charlie Larkin
  2. I like 1955-'57 Oldses, and I would be delighted to see one come out in plastic...enough so that I'd be buying a whole bunch of them. All those pretty two-tone combinations..... Charlie Larkin
  3. I am curious...what did you use for the blue? Charlie Larkin
  4. Liam, your building and execution have come a long way. This is coming out very, very nicely. Charlie Larkin
  5. Shear insanity...in a good way. Shawn, this is one of the most outstanding builds I've ever seen, if not the most outstanding. Charlie Larkin
  6. That's looking very nice, Geoff. White and red is a pretty color combination. How do you propose to do the striping? Charlie Larkin
  7. Neato. Engine suggestions? Charlie Larkin
  8. Very nice mild custom. Try taking some pictures outside, too, for a little better lighting. Charlie Larkin
  9. Very nicely done. Charlie Larkin
  10. This looks like it'll be a nice build. How do we contact this resin-caster? Charlie Larkin
  11. Lee stole my paint scheme! I was toying with Crest Blue (roughly that color,) and I might still...or Serge Blue or maroon. I might even do two-tone gray just for something very quiet and understated. Charlie Larkin
  12. That looks very nice, Geoff. The Collings Foundation, which is a small private museum near me, has a very nice Stutz in a soft pastel gray with red seats. If I ever get around to building mine, I think I'm doing that color scheme. I enjoy seeing you put it all together. Charlie Larkin
  13. Shaping up nicely. Charlie Larkin
  14. Those whitewalls look nice; I'm almost definitely going to paint mine- the decals just don't look right to me. I have to agree Mark, the little bit I've built of mine, and this thing is almost Shake 'n Bake assembly. Revell did a very good job on this. Charlie Larkin
  15. I'm flattered you liked my grille idea enough to use it, Mike, and very happy it worked well for you. Those taillights are nice. I really like how this is coming together. Charlie Larkin
  16. Aces. I like that red on that car. Charlie Larkin
  17. Better than just a boob... Charlie Larkin
  18. Now that is cool! Especially in HO scale. Charlie Larkin
  19. Very nice work, Tony. Charlie Larkin
  20. Thanks for that, Stu. I'll correct my painting tonight. So far- the assembly ease of this kit is AMAZING. This thing is almost falling together! I've never built a Tamiya kit- have a couple to get to, but I can see what all the Tamiya builders rave about. This is one of the easiest-to-assemble kits I've ever built. Charlie Larkin
  21. Nice job, Mike. I like the interior work very much. Charlie Larkin
  22. In the 1960s, there was a Bare-Metal type product available, although it was a bit pricey (much like BMF now.) I like these retrospective builds, and done well, they look nice. There's something to be said for well-done simplicity. Charlie Larkin
  23. I'll take the entire package...why limit yourself to just two parts? As to the car....yeah, no thanks. Charlie Larkin
  24. Very nice, Richard. What did you use to make the walls of the garage? They have a nice, realistic thickness and appearance. Charlie Larkin
  25. Pretty much it. These are the ill-effects of Quntatitive Easing, and QE-3 might set off what is commonly known as hyper-inflation. In the case of a can of paint going up 50% in a few months, that sounds more like Hobby Lobby inflation, but with the myriad of laws and regs unleashed over the last few years and poor economic crisis management, we are now entering stagflation. Thank you, you drooling dribble-heads in Washington.
