  1. Some great ideas here. I'd add a 1978-88 Cutlass Supreme (I really like those,) and a 1977-90 GM B/C(RWD)/D-body. I like Jim's picks, especially the Lakewood and Kingswood. The S-3 El Cam is cool, so would an S-3 coupe or wagon. We do need a new Auburn and some more Forward Look and earier MoPar, too. And more independents. The E-body Dodge Magnum is a nice pick, too. I always thought those were a handsome car. Charlie Larkin
  2. Especially considering I'll be buying at least two more coupes and a convertible. I'm using the coupe I have now to build Jeff's gorgeous 4-door (I have an early production kit with very bad seaming on the body that I can't sand out.,) plus a coupe and another of Jeff's conversion- a Hollywood. I do hope though, as Mark said, that a '57 Chevy convertible is forthcoming. Their model is very nice and that's one car that is LONG overdue for such an icon. Charlie Larkin
  3. Cool, another Gremlin! More importantly, cool, another AMC! Charlie Larkin
  4. Where's the oil streaks? All kidding aside, Bruce, nice build. Charlie Larkin
  5. Nice job with the wood. I like the color, too.C Charlie Larkin
  6. A six-cylinder four-door. Very much like I would like for a daily driver in nice weather. Make it nice. in stock form, I think a '58 Chevy is a nice-looking car. Charlie Larkin
  7. My mistake- didn't catch the Italieri in there. I built that when I was 10. I think I need to rebuild it- or get a new one and try again. Charlie Larkin
  8. I like the overall execution/style. Neat concept and nice execution. Charlie Larkin
  9. Looks as if it'll ride a bit rough- not much suspension there. A little bit of a different model; things like this don't seem to get built too much. Nice work, Wor. Fraternity, Charlie Larkin
  10. I'll look forward to seeing these completed. Great paint work. Charlie Larkin
  11. Actually, Skip, my intention is to let you talk about any book. Take a look at my first post. Car books, novels, history, cooking, philosophy, education, it's all up for grabs. I've heard mention of The Cross and The Crescent, and it's on my "check it out." list. With my involvement in lodge, anything about the Templars piques my interest. Charlie Larkin
  12. Too bad those are so hard to find stateside. I wouldn't mind one of those myself. Charlie Larkin
  13. I remmber the upholstery in most of the convertibles I've seen being a little darker red, but that thing looks great! Nice job, Art. Charlie Larkin
  14. Pretty combo. I'm presuming this is the Heller kit? Nice job. Charlie Larkin
  15. I like the white/yellow. It's a pretty combiantion. Nice job, Walt. Charlie Larkin
  16. I just finished The Sandcastle Girls by Chris Bohjalian. This is a very moving, well-written mix of summer reading, historical fiction, and modern adult fiction. As I have said to a couple of friends of mine who are English majors, this book has a genuine chance at being hailed a modern classic. It's set around a novelist who explores her gradnparents meeting and the trials they endured during the Armenian Genocide, her grandfather an Armenian engineer hired by the Germans and her grandmother a relieft worker from America. The narrator explores the evolution into her life using her own narrative and historical context, almost as if you're reading two or three novels at once. Bohjalian, when I heard him speak on book-tour, loosely based the character on his own life experience. Be warned- some of the scenes are pretty rough, but it's a great book and I hightly, highly recommend it. Charlie Larkin
  17. This is the first I'm hearing of this. My sincerest and deepest condolences to you in what is a time of great sorrow, Manny. Charlie Larkin
  18. A. Your brother needs new friends. B. Your brother needs Pop's good solid boot up the fanny if he's stealing from you. C. I have to agree with Gregg. Those who steal from there own don't quite rate "human" to me. Charlie Larkin
  19. And that's really what matters! Charlie Larkin
  20. I really like that color, along with the whole execution, and as a general rule, I'm not that into customs. Nice job on this. Charlie Larkin
  21. My understanding is that will fit on an AMT chassis if you want a full-detail, stock-height coupe that looks as close to right as any '34 Ford has. I'm toying with grabbing one of those and doing exactly that. Charlie Larkin
  22. Nice stuff here. Charlie Larkin
  23. That looks good in sold red. Then again, Curt, as you built it, it looks good, period. Charlie Larkin
  24. Well, at least one thing on the underside didn't rust... Well done, Red. Charlie Larkin
  25. I've seen a few of those NVs (I think they're called?) and they're not too bad-looking. I'll say this...Nissan is turning out some decent-looking cars, lately. Charlie Larkin
