  1. This is absolutely amazing, Ken. Thank you for sharing it. Charlie Larkin
  2. Very nice work with that, Jim. I'm sure its new owner will be very happy with it. Charlie Larkin
  3. Yes, another McNally installment! Mike, you seriously need to think about doing expanded stories and getting these published- they're very well written, and I can see the late and lamented Dr. Parker has taken a full grip upon your prose- not a bad thing at all. One of the guys in MassCar gave me a '10 GT coupe with a goofed-up body. I'm thinking of doing exactly what you're doing here, and building the rest of the kit with a convertible body/interior, so I'll be watching this with interest. Hopefully we'll be seeing you on the 18th. Charlie Larkin
  4. Nice job on the camo. Leave it clean- too nice a job to cover up. Think of goin' to meetin' on Sunday...wanted the truck a little more presentable. Charlie Larkin
  5. Excellent work, Jim. Charlie Larkin
  6. Don, those tires look great. I think they should be required accessory on just about everything of that vintage. This is a super project- I really like what you're doing with this. Charlie Larkin
  7. The 215, with a little massaging, however, will do a nice job of representing a 300/340/350 Buick. My understanding is that the blocks were about the same size, with the 300 family of course, being cast iron. Charlie Larkin
  8. If you go to New England Chapter, Hudson-Essex-Terreplane Owners Club, and ask, they'll get you some pictures, Jon. They're great people. Charlie Larkin
  9. Very nice job. And a very interesting subject. Charlie Larkin
  10. I have yet to get Heather to consent to a picture (she absolutely hates being photographed,) and I usually hide behind the camera, but this is me. Yes, Terry and Mike D., I really do use an FD! I figured everyone else has a mirror shot, I might as well, too. With a 1929 Deusenburg road-side on Edmands Rd., Framingham, Ma., August, 2010. Taken by Dad. This, I think, is the most recent picture I have of me available. Taken Jan., 2011. I'm on the left with my friend Vartan in the center and his lovely wife. Charlie Larkin
  11. I forgot about the '66 Riviera. For some reason, I was thinking that had the second-generation Buick V8 in it. That is a very nice engine, and would serve your purposes well. Charlie Larkin
  12. I thought your name looked familiar, Ed. I used to belong to CPMC, too. I'm usually too busy to worry about the market-place. And too broke, so I'm right there with you. That said, the seminars are great and as you well know, the people make it all worthwhile. I hope to see you there. Please be sure to (re)introduce yourself. Charlie Larkin
  13. The one in the AMT 1966 Wildcat is fairly nice. Once built, it make a credible representation of the engine. Your other two reasonably-easily-sourced options are AMT's 1962 Buick Electra 225 and 1965 Riviera. Perhaps something had one as a hot-rod engine, but nothing I can think of. Charlie Larkin
  14. I used to watch The Monkees re-runs when I was a little kid. It's always sad when we lose someone talented and who brought joy to peoples' lives. The music will live on, as will the memories. Charlie Larkin
  15. Very nice. Was this part of the big junkyard diorama that was at NNL last year? Chralie Larkin
  16. I'm lucky. I have half a dozen good shops within an hour or so of me. I will buy online if I have trouble sourcing something locally, though. Charlie Larkin
  17. Manganese Brown and several other colors have been long out-of-production, hence the need for eBay. Testors actually had a nice line of car colors in the 1980s. I, for one, would be happy to see a lot of those make a return to the marketplace. Charlie Larkin
  18. I really like where this is going, Don. Nice work on it. Charlie Larkin
  19. Nice work, Nick. You're really improving. Did you scratch-build that luggage rack? Charlie Larkin
  20. Those shades of brown in the interior look about right for the Hornets I've seen over the years. Duly noted. Excellent build on this. Charlie Larkin
  21. I'm officially impressed. Very nice work on this entire project, and great collaboration between you and Peter on getting those parts out. Charlie Larkin
  22. Hi, Ed, and greetings from Marlborough. As the Secretary of MassCar, please allow me to extend to you an open invitation to our meetings in Dedham, on the second Saturday and/or the third Wednesday of the month. Please see www.masscar.com for more information. I also invite you to venture with us to the gateway of the South Coast and join us March 18 for our show in Taunton, located at the Holiday Inn, located at Exit 9 (Bay St.,) off of 495.
  23. I'm using the FD because Dad's Sunpak doesn't mount on my newer camera (Pentax SF-10,) or his Nikon N80. I also like the completely manual control I have with the lighting in that hotel. My dad loves his Mamiya 645 and his twin-lens 120/220 Mamiya, but I don't remember the model number off the top of my head. I've used the 645 a couple of times- very nice camera. Mike- hope you can make it. If not, hopefully NNL. My offer for a ride-share still stands if the schedules cooperate. Charlie Larkin
