  1. I have to be there....I'm the secretary! Look for the Canon FD and Sunpak 600. My sweetie will be there too a little later after she comes back from church to help run the kids' stuff with me. Charlie Larkin
  2. If all goes to plan, I will be there. I might even have a car or two for the table. My companion and I may make a slightly extended weekend of this. She wants to go play in New York and I have a couple of friends who moved down there, so I'll get to visit them, too. Of course, I'm looking forward to the vendors and seeing some friends again. Charlie Larkin
  3. Gives a new spin on bunnies, that's for sure.... Charlie Larkin
  4. It's a start. I'll see if I can have a copy cast and then graft to the appropriate transmission. On that subject, would that GM transmission be correct for an early '60s full-size Chevy passenger car? For some reason, I've developed a desire to do a 1963-'64 Biscayne with a six/OD. Charlie Larkin
  5. Does anyone know a model that depicts a 3-speed transmission with the Borg-Warner overdrive attached, preferably a GM car? Or, does anyone know of a B-W in resin, and I can adapt it to the transmission of my choice? Charlie Larkin
  6. Both of these, particularly the first point, are well worth consideration. Charlie Larkin
  7. What a classy-lookin' ride. Other than maybe a 283/'Glide, that is a car I could very easily have seen myself ordering new in 1961. Charlie Larkin
  8. Seeing that you're from New York, I'll forgive that Yankees graffitti! She did a nice job for first time out. Even her penmanship (something I battled with for ages with my students) is pretty decent. I'll look forward to seeing more of her work. Charlie Larkin
  9. Any quality hardware store should have them. Also try Micro-Mark if you're looking for really small ones. Charlie Larkin
  10. Dave pretty much hit it. Although, with your differences between degree and work experience, you might want to talk up your experiences more, as you would in a functional resume. I've found that for myself, a functional resume works pretty well, because I've done a lot of different things and it's better to highlight skills and abilities. I used to teach career ed. in high school, and I'd be happy to help. Send it to chlarkin8575 (at) yahoo. com, if you'd like, Monty, and I'll be happy to look it over. Other things to consider. 1. Rob may be right in that people just aren't hiring in your area. It's tough, and we've had a lot of that in New England, too. 2. If you're not on www.linkedin.com, I would STRONGLY urge you to consider joining. It's for professional networking, and you might be able to scare up some work that way. 3. The community colleges will absolutely help you with your resume. It might also be worthwhile to consider taking a class or two, just for something to do and update yourself a little. That might also help you stretch your unemplyoment out a few weeks. Charlie Larkin
  11. 1. Glue 2. Clamps 3. A decent area to work (which I sorely miss right now, and have for a long time, which is why I didn't build very much for several years.) 4. A good assortment of paint brushes. 5. Razor saw blades that fit X-Acto #1 handles. X-Acto doesn't seem to make them anymore, but Excel does, and they're very good blades. 6. A good pair of nippers 7. Tweezers 8. Decent cement 9. #11 blades 10. The physical and mental capacity to perform the work we are called upon to perform in the modeling hobby, and the moral support of friends, family and loved ones to pursue it with the full gusto we all should. Charlie Larkin
  12. Always a pleasure to see your beautiful dioramas, Ed. Very nice job on this. Charlie Larkin
  13. Don't forget the Vista Cruiser, which used a 120" wheelbase. Charlie Larkin
  14. I'm hoping they don't pull an AMT c., 2000 and decide not to do it. If they do, there are going to be a lot of very unhappy people out there, and I'll be one of them. Charlie Larkin
  15. Erik, Excellent photography and some very nice builds, too. You managed to get the depth of field on those motorcycle shots so that it looked very convincing. Keep working on both, young man, and you'll be a master at them. Charlie Larkin
  16. I'm not really into them, but I'm into mainstreamers, and as long as the stock parts were included, I'd consider buying one. With advancing tool engineering and science, it's costing less money to make new tools, which is why we're seeing more chances being taken, so while I would not pronounce this a sure thing, I wouldn't dismiss this as a possibility, either, and it will probably be from one of the smaller companies, like Moebius or Galaxie. I could also see the revitalizing AMT giving this a shot. Charlie Larkin
  17. I don't believe those can be built stock without A LOT of work. You'd have to find just about everything. Now, I think the chassis from the AMT 1992-96 F-150s, while perhaps not 100% accurate, might be a good start, you'd still need to come up with a carbbed 302 or 300 (Kitchen Table Resins makes the 300 and it's said to be very nice, Escort Resins also makes one that looks pretty good,) the interior, wheels, tires, etc. Or, you could make a pretty cool mild custom using the interior and running gear from the newer truck. Charlie Larkin
  18. Don, Very, very neat. I like the plug wire solution, and I'm looking forward to seeing how you attach to the distributor. This is indeed a very cool country-club hotrod and, and it's so nice to see something different. Any thoughts on colors? I'm thinking Tamiya Pearl Blue with Pearl White accents and coves over a silver base would look right at home on that car, along with a nice set of steel rims and wide whites on wide hot-rod style tires, like the Modelhaus supplies. Charlie Larkin
  19. I second this request! Charlie Larkin
  20. A lot of these people seem to think their cars come with the "road" option. As in they bought the road wth the car. Ummm...no. Charlie Larkin
  21. Welcome Nathan. They let me post my stuff here, so don't worry about yours. Charlie Larkin
  22. Garfield after three cups is my companion after she has about three sips. I empathize with Jon. Thanks for a good laugh. Charlie Larkin
  23. I like. Mainstreamers rule. Charlie Larkin
  24. I like that. Step-downs look good in green. Charlie Larkin
  25. Nicely done, Michael. I like the color- it's a nice change from the early '70s browns/tans/greens. Charlie Larkin
