  1. I like that. Very nicely done. A truck any business would've been proud to have in the fleet...or be the fleet. Charlie Larkin
  2. Second that on all counts. Charlie Larkin
  3. Nice job on this one. Are those scripts decals or photo-etch? I also see Revell still needs to address the missing annodized strip on the trunklid with "OLDSMOBILE" stamped into it. Still not a bad kit, though from what I've seen said. Charlie Larkin
  4. That interior is an option in the kit. Jared- nice job. Charlie Larkin
  5.  I saw this at just the right time when I really needed a good laugh! Charlie Larkin
  6. Very nice. I'll be checking out those whitewalls, too. Charlie Larkin
  7. Very nice job on that. Charlie Larkin
  8. Very impressive, Jim. What colors specifically did you use for the interior and body? Those look like very good representations overall of the original tones. Charlie Larkin
  9. Hope to see you at MassCar in Taunton March 18. www.masscar.com for more information.

  10. I am amazed by this whole build. Absolutely awesome. Charlie Larkin
  11. Hi, Mike. Still not 100% sure on those wheels, but I like where it's going with the rest of it. This, like your other builds, will turn out to be a nice, clean execution of a good concept, regardless. Charlie Larkin
  12. Those are nice colors on that Imperial, Jeff, I agree, and with your building, it will come out beautifully. Charlie Larkin
  13. Absolutely outstanding, espeicially that body. GREAT job! Charlie Larkin
  14. Considering these scores now being reported are from 2009, when there was a great deal of uncertainty with GM and Chrysler, I'm willing to excuse Mother MoPar for that showing. That said, if cars are getting better in terms of reliability almost across the board, that means no matter what you buy, you stand a better chance at coming out a winner. Competition really does improve the breed. Charlie Larkin
  15. It's only not good enough if you don't think it is. Let others have their say. I'm not sure what dust-up I missed, but I think, young man, you deserve a lot of credit for owning up to whatever transgression, real or percieved you may have committed. In the nine-ish years I taught junior and senior high school, if more kids would do that instead of hiding behind each other or Mommy or Daddy, or some sympathetic teacher, we'd have a lot fewer problems with our youth. You set not only a good example for your peers, but for adults, too. Charlie Larkin
  16. Darin, Recently, I have begun to date someone who has become very special to me, and like Bobbi, although for different reasons, also has very fragile health. And like your beloved wife, I have also found that what is missing in physical robustness is more than made up for in mental and emotional toughness. I find her resilience inspiring everyday. I know you found Bobbi's the same way, and now, after the last two months with my lady, I more fully understand why. It also makes you understand why it is so very important to treasure those closest to you- for surely one day, and the wisest knows not when, death, the common leveler of all human greatness, will reduce us to the same state; and for some, it will be entirely too soon. Bobbi's suffering and pain are over, although her physical presence will be missed, and it is difficult to deal with its absence, remember that in spirt and in the energy she had, she will always be with you. The energy of the human spirit, like other forms of energy, can never be destroyed- it only re-manifests itself in a different manner. In the memorial service the Masons have for a departed Brother, there is one line that I have found brings some comfort to all people- "death is not a journey to the grave, but through the grave." Remember that- the story has not ended, merely a new chapter begun. In the meantime, you have the support of friends, loved ones and your fellow modelers. Please accept my sincerest and most heartfelt condolences over what I know is a very difficult loss for you. I, with all of us, stand by you. Charlie Larkin
  17. I was just thinking the same thing... Charlie Larkin
  18. I like to use Open Office Draw for my plates. I'll go to one of the plate sites, or find one on the Internet, copy and paste the picture, and Draw makes it very easy to reduce the plate. One word of caution, Draw does not save in normal files, like .bmp or .jpg, but it will cut and paste into Paint, which does, very easily. I don't use Paint because I don't like how it works for this type of stuff. Draw, and all of Open Office, will, however, save as a .pdf, which is nice. I can make entire sheets of license plates in draw in less than half an hour. For standard U.S./Canadian plates, set it to 0.47" wide by 0.23" high, and that's almost exact (+/- 0.0001".) Charlie Larkin
  19. If all goes well, I'll be at NNL this year. What is the price? I didn't see it on the Internet site. Jeff-I'll give you a week's heads-up if I'm going or not. If so, please hold one for pick-up. Charlie Larkin
  20. A Step-Down convertible has a certain elegance to it. I really can't wait for this one! Charlie Larkin
  21. Not bad at all, Steve. It really does speak to the Daytona/Laser being among the more successful efforts of design in the 1980s style-wise. Charlie Larkin
  22. Nice job on that air-filter, Mike, and the rest of it. Charlie Larkin
  23. Talk about something we don't see in plastic too much. I didn't even know such a kit existed. Charlie Larkin
  24. Fortunately, I have no wife to throw stuff... When things get bad, I either put it away and work on something else, or put it away and do something else altogether. The idea is supposed to be "this if fun," and I do my best to keep it that way. Charlie Larkin
  25. That's what they said! And that, on both counts, is what I say... Charlie Larkin
