  1. Thank you. All the parts are coming together now . . . I am applying a wash to the chassis and some powder and we should be pretty much done, except for the surfboards . . . Stay tuned in for more progress later this evening.

  4. Here you go, Harry, the boys over from the chroming department at Cranky's Workshop came over this morning and although they said the chrome trim on this 56 Chevy were shot and need to be replated, they did the best they could . . .
  5. Thanks, everyone. Your comments really help keep me inspired. Harry, I still have to do the side trim, buddy. BMF is going to work, but I wanted to have the body nearly finished . . . stay tuned in for more progress . . .
  6. Here are some frontal side views . . . . You know the more I work with acrylics the more I like the fact that after the paint dries, it really helps all the colors come together . . . Geez, that front windshield looks way to clean . . . you know that's gonna change . . .
  7. Thanks, maties . . . I appreciate the comments. The storm is supposed to come by here during the night and in the morning, just high winds. We are still bringing the dogs in just in case . . . I've done a bit more progress just in case the power goes out for a day or so . . . just trying to get this one wrapped up. So far I just have this sucker mocked up . . .I still have to finishing detailing the interior . . . etc . . . All the decals were in my decal box . . . but it took some looking!!!
  8. Thanks, Terry, that means a lot to me. But you know the real fun is in working with these kinds of Revell kits that are such a joy to put together. The rest of the build should start coming together soon . . . Beaters like this are so low stress that they are just pure fun!!!

  11. Sweet!!! Keep it going . . . all of this fitting and mocking up will pay off in the end, buddy. Can't wait to see it in the painting stage! Take your time, you have plenty of time left.

  14. Here's the chassis . . . all the little details are coming through . . . a bit of fogging with the airbrush helps . . .. The suspension goes on easy . . . and they help keep all four wheels touching . . . Here's the headliner to brighten up the interior a bit . . .

  16. This kit is a very easy kit to mask off in terms of the interior . . . It all goes together very well.
  17. Here comes some progress of the rolling chassis and the interior . . . the engine is still in the works . . .
  18. The competition is heating up. We now have almost 2 dozen builders jocking up for first, second, and third . . . they are all building their hearts' out. And you know it is not too late for YOU to join up! There's still plenty of time!!!
  19. Thanks, Tom. Yeah, this 56 Nomad kit goes very well together . . .so far no major problems . . . I'm keeping my fingers crossed with the interior . . .
  20. Been working on the chassis tonight and putting on the tires, making sure they all touch and that the body looks cool . . . So far so good . . . I got some soot on those big pipes . . .

  23. The rear suspension, shocks, and exhaust tips have gone on . . . after the chassis gets assembled, I will come back and work out the details with the airbrush . . . and some washes . . .
  24. I am also adding some of the facial details to this one . . . I used grey, ruddy brown, and black primers and a few passes of Dullcoat to make the chrome look pitted and a bit gone . . . it's a good technique that yields great results . . .
  25. Work on the chassis has begun . . . this is the way it looks straight out of the salting and painting process . . . no washes on there yet . . . or gunk.
