  1. That extra body line is just a chrome trim piece . http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=stock+40+willys+pickup&view=detailv2&id=E0AC5D93888D6ED7C2F8F88404C6871E1F86F094&selectedindex=11&ccid=cKD9daGI&simid=607999539630245279&thid=JN.zMUoivR2qXs4%2F2anr1Iceg&mode=overlay&first=1
  2. Looks good Ray. I like the Ohio George style wheelie bars.
  3. John this is a very nice work in progress. Great old truck and as you have said hard to find a good rebuilder reasonable.
  4. Well I see why you wanted the flat bed now. Looks very cool.
  5. Brian have you ;looked under the diecast section on Ebay. Many times there are parts on there.
  6. Thats very nice.
  7. O.K-Just for sake of conversation and I'm not trying to start an argument . then I'm going to leave this topic alone. Beside the fact I clearly remember what that truck was and wasn't=this was taken straight from the Fordification site Quote : For 1968 Models , Base models got a steel grille assembly and the Custom Cab models could get either a steel grille or an all aluminum version . Again just for sake of conversation- In 1972 he bought a brand new F250 Ranger XLT Camper Special that was fully loaded with options and chrome trim . Cloth seat and carpet . 360/automatic trans. Here's the point I'm trying to make-> In 1976 he ordered an F250 super cab bicentennial version , those only came in blue or white-his was white with gold eagle stripes down the sides, red , white and blue plaid cloth seat and rubber floor - I've had people tell me that Ford never made a super cab bicentennial version OR a bicentennial F250 - they said they were only regular cab/F100s and I've been told that IF it had a cloth seat it would have had carpeted floors but it didn't , he ordered it thru Gorno Ford in Woodhaven , MI - that truck had a 460/automatic trans. My Dad passed away years ago so I can't ask him but I did ask my Mom what she remembered about the '68 F100 and she said all she could remember was it didn't have a rear bumper when he bought it and it did not come with a spare tire either-that was extra......she said they paid around $2,000.00 for it brand new which was a lot of money for them at the time . Oh well , just for sake of conversation ...........maybe the "Custom Cab" markings had some thing to do with the 390 instead of a six cylinder or small V8 ? Chris head down to GORNO(they are still open) and ask about that 76 truck . It might have been a dealer trim package they added. It was a big thing around here then, we even had a wagon train show up at our school in Michigan that year, One thing that we are missing about options on a truck is that dealers will do almost anything for money. If you want it and will pay they will change it in house.
  8. Well with this should be thrown in the cannonball thread. Still looking very cool.
  9. Years ago when all the so called wacky people were saying this and that about why computers are in cars we just laughed at them. Now they are not looking so wacky now. Just to add a little to this 15 years ago or so a GM dealer in Detroit was using onstar to shut off the cars that people missed too many payments on. Not a new thing just a different thing.
  10. I have also noticed that the stores have different things on clearance.
  11. Nice pair.
  12. The AMT Cab is a 34 you can tell by the body line on the back of the Cab. . Cab size does not change on these trucks 1/2 ton or larger same cab. Model A same way.
  13. Welcome aboard. A paint stand can be many things.I do believe there is a post in the tips section.
  14. Welcome aboard. Do not worry, many of us live in the stone ages. LOL
  15. I was sitting next to my buddy at work and he said he still may have pictures of his 69 while it was being rebuilt. And many pictures from shows of the rear disc brake setups. If he can find them. He was telling me about how it has three calipers that are the same . How one brake is at the rear and one is at the front on the rear end, using the same mounting casting on both sides. Do you have sosme good pictures of the rear end ? He told me a Camaro show was just at Depot Town in Ypsilanti. It is in the park where they have many car shows.
  16. Man this is very cool. Looks great color, stance and the wheels just draw your eyes in for a look.
  17. A big thank you to Gregg and Company for putting up with our nonsense over the new changes. Things are looking up here on the Forum. I for one am very happy with the way this is going.
  18. It looks to be sitting on an old push mower with no handle.
  19. Clayton the 70 is not a full frame car if I remember correctly if that makes a difference to you. You could also just get a cheap 90's Tbird NASCAR kit and use the running gear and frame.
  20. nice work
  21. You are doing a great job on this. If you painted this car maroon it could have been the car my friend owned a 20 years ago. I do remember the rear brakes were the same as a Corvette, or very close to them. The test drives sitting on a milk crate with open headers was a treat. They used to have a Camaro show up at the GM tech center every year. Not sure if it still goes on or not. For some silly reason he sold this car and purchased a 70 , He said they were faster so that is why he did it. LOL
  22. Looks good.
  23. I did this for the box of the kit I washed and it worked. I just put the box in a large bag for a week. With the dryer sheets.
