  1. Not sure what my rarest is...my oldest is an AMT '58 Edsel ht annual, that I bought as a builtup. It's my only '58 annual--have a bunch of '59 annuals incl. Chevys, Pontiacs, an Olds, Ford, Edsel, Mercury and Lincoln. I have the '70 Mark Donahue Javelin unbuilt and complete. Loads of '60s-70s annuals from AMT, MPC and Johan in my stash, some unbuilt, some I bought built in good shape, some built I want to restore.
  2. Maybe it goes the other way like a teeter totter.. My guess for the high rear is ground clearance to keep it from bottoming out or dragging on rough unpaved roads?
  3. LoL...that's a Crown Vic cab... they did some cut-and-paste of images...
  4. He was a member here on MCM IIRC.
  5. Two of my dogs are mixed breed—Beardsley (aka B-wa)—a chi/terrier mix and Raine—some sort of terrier mix. They were rescues, a bonded pair. Love them.
  6. Post test
  7. I get a lot of ideas from magazine cars, SEMA show cars, cars I've seen at Barrett-Jackson, and pictures I stumble across on the internet. I keep a spreadsheet of my ideas and save photos...
  8. I watched the video the other day on Jalopnik..interesting stuff. Though I couldn't imagine buying a salvage title anything, let alone something as complex as a Tesla. Seems like buying something like that as a salvage title would be a world of misery...Teslas make ok lease appliances, but wouldn't want one out of warranty.
  9. That '61 Ford box art is pretty putrid, can't really tell what it is...--is it the formal roof 2dr that has been reissued many times (sometimes w/ the Styline box art,) or is it a convertible w/ an up top?
  10. I kind of like the smooth finless profile, but some of the details are weird, like the taillights...
  11. Yeah, some sort of junkyard Frankenstein monster...
  12. I was thinking Geo Metro, but the taillight shape makes me think more like a 90s Honda Civic
  13. The modern '60 Chevy tooling, and I'd assume the go kart is either new tooling or they found the tooling to the one that was in the '60s pickup annuals?
  14. I have a couple of the Clearly Scale Hellcat engines and their conversion kit w the trim, hood, wheels, tires and brakes. Good stuff. They plan to do an interior eventually also. I believe Plamoz is also planning to do Hellcat and Demon conversions.
  15. I never had the Lightning kit, but built all the regular F150 variations they had then. I think the main issue at the time regarding the Lightning is it had the F150 side trim moldings, which the 1:1 Lightning didn't have.
  16. Me too...the dual carbs w/ low intake looks almost sedate in comparison. Maybe Moebius/MK will do this version eventually.
  17. How accurate are the valve covers in the AMT '66 Galaxie? I remember it having a 427 cammer option..
  18. Sad to hear..I knew him from the Spotlight board going back to the Hobby Heaven era...met him a couple times--at the Copperstate show maybe 15 years ago, and at the NNL West. Good person to chat with about cars and model cars.
  19. I remember getting a new sealed Revell '59 Ford Skyliner as a teenager in the late 80s and wondering where the body was when I opened the box. It was the first time I'd encountered a Revell multi-piece body. Close to 20 years ago, I bought an opened but advertised as complete MPC Dodge 'Thunderstruck' 4x4 pickup on eBay. It arrived complete except for the cab. I contacted the eBay seller--he couldn't find the body, so he sent me a sealed version of the same kit (that was complete).
  20. I scored 4-5, but I'm still south of 50. I remember Party lines--we had one at our farm in the 70s--had the black bakelite phone then also. Restaurants w/ table side juke boxes--seen those in Waffle House and maybe Stuckeys back int the 80s Andy Griffith Show--saw a few episodes on reruns in the 70s Blue Flashbulbs--my folks had an old camera w/ them in the 70s Also Drive-In theatres--but never been to one--seen them, though..
  21. Googling 'Arnie Beswick' Comet turned up an engine that looks like this, with tubes instead of dual carbs. I guess that is how it is today (or a recreation?).
  22. Always wondered what the 6 wheel custom kit looked like built up..that's neat. Never seen one other than box art photos.
  23. The Monogram pickup was pretty good for a snap kit---it had an engine and separate headlight lenses IIRC (I built it back in the 80s). This is much more simplified I think..
