Got a bunch of stuff in the mail today that I bought for my birthday... AMT '57 Chrysler 300C reissue (like the retroish box art), some goodies from HLJ --Fujimi reissue '74 Porsche 911 RS and '76 Porsche 930 Turbo--never had those; an Aoshima Suzuki Carry truck (tiny!), and an Aoshima 3rd gen Mazda RX-7. Also the Salvino's Buddy Baker Olds (nice decals). and a resin kit that I ordered 3 months ago--Motor City Resin's '74 Ford Econoline van.

I once chased my 5lb Yorkie around the back yard to retrieve a hood from an unbuilt MPC '68 Camaro that I had dropped on the floor. It now has tiny teeth marks. -
They are probably unrelated; the Scale Productions one was for use with the AMT '67 and the USCP is for the Revell '68. I thought about getting Greg Wann's version, I may just get the Greenlight die cast.

I've been happy w/ Verizon for 18 years now.. just traded my old iPhone on a new one, it was pretty effortless. Didn't have to go to the store, they UPSed the new phone to me w/ a box and label to return the old one.

Tesla 3 and Tesla 5 dash

The problem I find with touch screens is they require your attention..can't control buttons on one by touch only, have to actually look at the screen. With my Jeep, I do find myself using the redundant steering wheel controls for audio (volume, channel, etc) as much as I can rather than the touch screen when in motion. And the climate controls have redundant buttons and knobs for most functions. I do like the phone integration for making and receiving calls...alas, I don't have the latest version of UConnect that has Apple Car Play. I can't imagine driving where there everything is controlled via touchscreen...be in trouble if the software fails or the screen gets cracked.. -
Those kind of vistas are one of the things I miss from when I lived in Colorado.

Had a really fun evening. Went out in the woods to Blossom Music Center amphitheater to see Roger Daltrey and the Cleveland Orchestra perform The Who rock opera 'Tommy'. Great weather.

I like Belgian beers and craft brewed beers from a variety of microbreweries...when I was living in Colorado with it's vibrant beer scene I really came to appreciate hefeweizens, pale ales, and various lagers.... Phoenix had a pretty good scene, as does Cleveland. I can't drink mass market swill like Budweiser anymore.. but I do like a variety of Mexican beers w/ Mexican food, Indian beers w/ Indian food, Japanese beers w/ Japanese food, etc. I like to pair the beer w/ the cuisine.

As far as the Torino kit, I have one to do as an S&H car, two to do stock w/ different wheels (the kit hubcaps on one, the Magnum 500s on another), one to do as a period street machine, one to do as a beater, and one for parts for a resin conversion....maybe w/ the Motor City Resin '72 wagon? (I have their '72 Gran Torino 2dr coupe and '72 Ranchero).

Is this a 79 or 80 Mercury Capri?
Rob Hall replied to GMP440's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
'79-82 all looked much the same outside..'83-86 had the bubble window hatch, revised taillights, hood and grille. IIRC the Revell kit shared it's body w/ the various Revell '79 Mustang kits, making for inaccurate Mustangs (Capris had front fender and rear quarter bulges the Mustang didn't have). -
One of the oddest USPS experiences I had was last year, an eBay purchase in Illinois came to Columbus, OH then to Akron OH, then to Cleveland..was delivered to my local post office, then back to Cleveland, then to Akron then back to Cleveland...then repeated the back and forth 3 more times over a week until it finally got back to my local post office. Nothing was wrong w/ the address on the package. Very odd..

Ordered models from Model Roundup in Atlanta a while back.. was checking the tracking info a couple days later, it was in a USPS facility in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Was then delivered a couple days later. Why would a package going from Atlanta to the Cleveland, Oh area go to the West Coast??

After a lot of hot, humid and rainy days and an 8hr power outage this morning, the weather was perfect this afternoon and evening. Grilled some burgers earlier and relaxing on my back patio.
