  1. Ordered models from Model Roundup in Atlanta a while back.. was checking the tracking info a couple days later, it was in a USPS facility in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Was then delivered a couple days later. Why would a package going from Atlanta to the Cleveland, Oh area go to the West Coast??
  2. After a lot of hot, humid and rainy days and an 8hr power outage this morning, the weather was perfect this afternoon and evening. Grilled some burgers earlier and relaxing on my back patio.
  3. Well, it's a reissue of a 50yr old MPC drag kit...wasn't that great to begin with...
  4. I like the old full size Blazers and Broncos, esp. the 90s Broncos. Almost bought a clean '95 back in '00.
  5. It's like whomever did the master had never seen the 1:1 or even a photo of the 1:1.
  6. Yeah, they aren't perfect. The quarter window shape in particular seems off. Not as bad as their '69 Biscayne which has a very odd C-pillar shape compared to the 1:1.
  7. MCW has done '62 and '63 Biscayne 2dr sedans, those would be good starting points to build 4dr sedans.
  8. Not with GM then...in the late 70s through the late 80s all the GM midsize cars like the Cutlass were still body on frame. As were the full size cars. GM didn't migrate to unibody for mid size coupes until they went to FWD starting in '88. Anyway, that was with real cars. As far as racing 'stock car' panels, by the late 60s wasn't it more about 'stock appearing' and roughly stock dimensions rather than anything truly 'stock'..
  9. Sharp build. I don't remember that show, but did watch Street Hawk back on the day. Anyone remember the short-lived Viper show?
  10. Ghoulardi...I've heard about him here, but before my time.
  11. The '62 Buick and '76 Caprice were in Pro Shop boxes as well...
  12. The 1997 reissue had similar box art...which was unusual, AMT didn't have many retro box art releases in the 90s.
  13. Sharp..very clean build.
  14. My Jeep has the paddle shifters in addition to the console shifter..for the 'sport' setting of the 8spd auto. I've never really used them, though I do bump them occasionally.
  15. Yeah, the short front door to front wheel distance (or dash-to-axle ratio) is a giveaway of a FWD based platform... not a fan of FWD, I prefer RWD/AWD for cars and SUVs (though I do like certain Audi and Volvo models). Interestingly, the next gen Explorer coming for 2020 will be on a new RWD/AWD platform I've read (same as the new Lincoln Aviator which replaces the MKT).
  16. Front drive/transverse engine, same platform as the Acadia and XT5. Just a volume lease appliance.
  17. Fleet spec pickups I can imagine are pretty stripped down and gray inside.
  18. A 73 4dr would be neat to replicate the Dude's car from Big Lebowski.
  19. Good question. With a manual, they had a typical floor shift lever. But with automatics, as far as I can guess from photos, it's a knob under the dash to the right of the steering column--looks like a shift quadrant in a dial above it.
  20. I was a huge fan of Borders, but the move to online ordering, ebooks and emagazines left them behind... Amazon ate their lunch..
  21. Ah. I knew I missed one of the Edsel models, couldn't remember that one.
  22. Edsel Corsair and Lincoln Corsair (2020). Edsel Citation and Chevy Citation. Edsel Pacer and AMC Pacer. Lincoln-Zephyr, Lincoln Zephyr, Mercury Zephyr. Opel Diplomat and Dodge Diplomat. Plymouth Suburban and Chevy and GMC Suburban. Ford Durango and Dodge Durango. Cadillac Calais and Olds Calais. Imperial Crown and Toyota Crown.
  23. That's the nature of language...slang or regular usage of words changes over time. Nothing is static...
  24. Loads of examples....Buick Century and Toyota Century. Dodge Challenger and Mitsubishi Challenger (a '90s SUV). Lincoln Continental and Bentley Continental. Chrysler Neon, Dodge Neon and Plymouth Neon. (different example since they are rebadges of the same car by the same company).
