  1. My old Jeep ('00 Grand Cherokee) had a variety of sensor and electrical issues (w/ the power windows and seats, etc), but only when it was over 10 years old and over 100,000 miles. The first 10 years were pretty uneventful. My '14 GC has been fine so far (37k miles)--has way more electronics than my old one, probably will keep it to 100,000 miles and trade for a new(er) one.
  2. That's the retro box art, I assume reproduced from a '60s-70s era box.
  3. I remember K-B Toys back when I went to malls.. used to go in them looking for diecast.
  4. Hmmm...that jogged a memory, I recall at one retailer seeing AMT kits packaged like 4 different kits together in a bundle, maybe around Christmas...not sure if it was TRU, been at least 20 years..
  5. I've driven on some of the remaining parts in Ca, Az, and NM...some interesting places.
  6. Toys R Us is defunct. I don't recall ever seeing models in one, been going to them off and on since the late 80s.
  7. Whatever, dude..I've been driving over 30 years..not a kid. I'll take modern cars over old ones any day for regular use.
  8. Salvinos said yesterday on their FB page that shipping would start today (Wed).
  9. Typo, I think he was referring to the '53 kit.
  10. I have the AMT release from the 2000s w/ the roof, this will be a nice variant to have also.
  11. When unpacking from my move last year, I found kits that I had forgotten I had, including duplicates. Even found an order of kits from Model Roundup that I hadn't opened (it came when I was packing my last moving pod, I must have put it in directly from the mail).
  12. You always seem to rant negatively about modern products, the modern world and modern people. Do have anything positive to say about the world? The angry, bitter old man living in the past shtick gets tiresome...then, again a lot of the denizens of this forum seem to be the same way..
  13. There are always delays. It takes time to get tooling going, box art designed, etc. That's reality. Revell's kit came out before AMTs, so your 'point' makes no sense...
  14. Though I moved everything from Arizona last year, I still have a lot of kits, die cast, furniture and electronics in storage in Denver. Planning to fly out and rent a UHaul or Penske truck and drive everything back to Ohio probably in the fall or next year.
  15. I went to the one in Scottsdale 8 times over about 15 years when I lived in the West. It kept getting bigger and bigger. Bigger crowds. Took hours to try and see everything.
  16. Stevens has these items listed also...wonder what they will be.. AMT PLASTIC MODEL KITS AMT-PP15 1/25 Garage Accessory Set #1 $28.95 TBA AMT PLASTIC MODEL KITS AMT-PP16 1/25 Garage Accessory Set #2 $30.95 TBA
  17. Sounds like rose colored glasses...today's CUVs and SUVs are way better built, look alot better than ugly humpy 40s cars IMO, have way more interior equipment (40s cars were very austere), and go a lot more miles...200k miles is easy of out of typical a modern car.
  18. Revell has no North American presence at present. Who knows what will be done in the future.
  19. This kit is still currently available. I don't see the point of this thread. There have already been countless threads about this kit, the Revell 29 and 30, and similar kits. Nothing new here...must be a slow Sunday... And as far as 'Round 2taking a while to counter Revell..' , well, that is nonsense--the Revell '29 came out in 2015, the AMT in 2016...
  20. Nah, only a 9spd auto. My Jeep only has an 8spd auto and is quite smooth...not sure if I need more gears. Crossovers are the big growth area of the market, with sedan sales tanking, we can expect more and more CUVs and SUVs coming out...
  21. With the Blazer, Chevy will have 4 CUVs and 2 SUVs. The Trax is the subcompact CUV, the Equinox is the compact CUV, the Blazer will be the midsize CUV, and the Traverse the full size CUV. All the CUVs are unibody/FWD/AWD. The SUVs are the Tahoe and Suburban--BOF RWD/4WD. The Blazer will basically be a variation of the GMC Acadia w/ different styling inside and out. Here's a chart of how they all lining up, note there are gaps that may be filled with future models. 2019 GM crossover chart brand subcompact compact midsize fullsize ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- chevy Trax Equinox Blazer Traverse gmc Terrain Acadia buick Encore Envision Enclave cadillac XT4 XT5
  22. I moved over 1000 kits (unbuilt, built, resin) from my house in Phoenix to my house in Ohio last year, all boxed up in moving boxes w/ bubble wrap inside in a moving Pod. Everything arrived safe and sound. I still have a lot of kits, die cast, furniture and electronics in storage in Denver. Planning to fly out and rent a UHaul or Penske truck and drive everything back to Ohio probably in the fall or next year.
  23. The Cruisin USA version was the first version of the '65 I built, built it and the custom only Cruising' USA '65 Grand Prix when I was 10. For some reason, I painted the Riv flat olive drab.
  24. That's how it used to be in Phoenix.they may still be using them there...I took several 747 BA nonstop flights to London and back from Phoenix in the mid-00s... also took 777s on BA from Denver to London. I found the 747s more comfortable than the 777s. Not as many 747s in use anymore.
  25. WeatherTech is an American company, so, I assume that's why they have that livery...
