  1. I do find the mid 80s sports coupe styling quite appealing...was the era I got my license, so subjects from the mid to late 80s kinda get my attention..
  2. I noticed that Model Roundup has changed the month on upcoming Revell reissues to 'TBD'... so things will probably quiet for a while. I'm not worried, plenty coming out in the next few months from Aoshima, Fujimi and Hasegawa (and Round 2) to keep me happy...
  3. The way I usually watch NASCAR races on TV is just the first 1/2 hr and the last 1/2 hr...in between is just tedious filler.
  4. I've been to the races in Phoenix and Fontana a few times, they were pretty good.
  5. Yeah, that's how it works...I suppose they have to put some specific model name on there, instead of just 'Ford', 'Chevy' or 'Toyota'...it doesn't really matter, though since NASCAR is about the drivers and teams more than the specific car brands.
  6. Something was lost in translation..tried to go German to Klingon. 'e' SIch nItlh cement pagh wo' 'e' rIn naQ windshield chu' qaStaHvIS gearbox swallowtail SaH SuD slots intake manifold cement inlet'e' SIch nItlh cement pagh wo' 'e' rIn naQ windshield chu'
  7. Camaro, Mustang, Camry for the 2019 season...maybe they can get Honda and Nissan to join, bring in the Accord and Altima branding.
  8. Well, they have the Snap Tite and the Junior Kit lines for younger modelers now..
  9. And in the fine print it will say 'content may not match illustrations'.
  10. No, the '70 Torino was a unibody. The right chassis and engine for it is the AMT '69 Galaxie XL, that's what I plan to use for mine.
  11. 1:10 is the standard scale for Tamiya R/C cars, not model kits. The Peugeot in the photo is a 1/10th R/C car. Tamiya did also do a 1/24th Peugeot 206 rally model kit also, though.
  12. I'm surprised they aren't issuing the bulldozer in Coca-Cola livery.
  13. I remember Barney Miller, but that was 40 years ago. I haven't seen 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine', but that seems to be a similar sitcom-in-a-police-station series. For more recent police dramas, I like 'The Wire', 'Southland' and 'Bosch'. Gritty w/ good acting all around, iMO.
  14. Pair it with the 1950 Martin Stationette..
  15. I suspect the original MPC body tooling ('70 Charger) had the front wheel wells opened up for the K&K Insurance NASCAR Daytona kit, then they revised the wheelwells and front fenders to 1969 style for the General Lee kit...? Not sure...I have the MPC '68, '69, '70 annuals but not the NASCAR Daytona.
  16. Latest read was 'Twisted Prey' by John Sanford. Just started 'I'll Be Gone in The Dark' by Michelle McNamara (about the Golden State Killer), and 'Beast' by Jade Gurss about the Penske-Ilmor Indy Car engine in the 90s.
  17. My last Modelhaus order came today...over 25 years after my first order. End of an era. It was 4 Forward Look Mopar kits--'57 Dodge D501 2dr sedan, '57 Dodge Custom Royal ht, '57 DeSoto Adventurer ht, and '60 Plymouth Savoy 4dr sedan.
  18. Saw a sharp '87 Buick Grand National this morning.
  19. Hopefully tooling accuracy and quality control will improve under new ownership and new management.
  20. I heard it was just the Model T, Model A, and 32 Ford tooling...no great loss...;)
  21. They will have the Mustang name next year in the Monster Energy series...(already in use in the Xfinity series).
  22. Welcome Mike, I'm in NE Ohio also, having moved back last year after 23 years away..
  23. I remember building the original issue DOH kit as a kid..that 4 spoke steering wheel was odd--something left over from a previous NASCAR version of the tooling, maybe?
  24. Saw a badly deteriorated '59 Ford Galaxie 2dr ht siting in a backyard in a small NE Ohio town yesterday...looked like it might have been a salmon & white two tone at one time.
