Round 2 will reissue what they reissue. If the tooling exists and is in good order, they will reissue it if they think it will sell. I can't see them radically retooling or back dating end-of-line tools to a previous year, too much investment would be needed. They know their market--they can reissue the same set of kits every 5 years, and if the box art and decals are different, they will sell. Over and over until the older crowd stops buying kits...

There is going to be a Revell US rebox of it, the box art was shown here in one of the threads a while back. RoG kits imported into the US usually always have higher retail prices than Revell US releases.

7F outside right now, going to be a high of 14 today after a low of zero last night. But it's sunny and snow on the ground (looking out at my patio and back yard). Having lived in S. Florida, NE Ohio, SE Michigan, Colorado's Front Range and Phoenix, I've found something interesting about each climate, they all have had their pros and cons...

Consider the source..the NY Post and Sun aren't exactly considered serious news sources. I'm more of a wine and craft beer fan, though I do like mojitos in the summer and champagne around xmas/new years.

Revells new 1/16 Porsche 356
Rob Hall replied to Roncla's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've heard they are quite nice... never had one as I'm more of a 911 fan than a 356 fan. Fujimi has some very nice 911s in the Enthusiast Series also. -
Revells new 1/16 Porsche 356

The coupe is mentioned in the other thread, it's apparently going to be a 1/16th snap kit -
Hey happy new year?My Jeep battery is dead...
Rob Hall replied to NYLIBUD's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Not sure if the battery in my Jeep is the original or not...it's a 2014 with 34k miles, I bought it as a CPO with 25k miles back in March. It starts every time I push the button. It did spend its first 3 years in So Cal and was in AZ only a few months. I know when I lived in AZ, I could only get 18 months to 2 years out of a battery... -
Looks like a neat kit, never had that one...a good candidate for reissue if the tooling still exists.

Yeah, just a straight reissue w/ new tires, goofy decals, and new box art. And now molded in black. Yawn. -

Revell's "new" Jeep & Snowmachine kit
Rob Hall replied to stavanzer's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Could be...I seem to also remember some kit with plastic tires that were hollow on the inner side---i.e. no inside side wall but open. Not sure what I'm remembering.. -
Revell's "new" Jeep & Snowmachine kit
Rob Hall replied to stavanzer's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
The 90s version is the only one I have. The wheels are not good, can't recall the tires...maybe thinking of the AMT Scout reissue.... I think I may get one of the new release and replace the wheels and tires with some FMW parts. -
Favorite Movie 2017, which one for you?
Rob Hall replied to 10thumbs's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Great car stunts, great soundtrack and cinematography. Glad I saw it in the theatre... -
Favorite Movie 2017, which one for you?
Rob Hall replied to 10thumbs's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I really liked 'Baby Driver'.. liked 'Last Jedi' and 'Dunkirk' also. 'Blade Runner: 2049' was visually great, but the story was a bit weak, IMO. A few I want to see soon include 'The Post', 'All the Money in the World' and 'Darkest Hour'. -

Rob Hall replied to Atmobil's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
eBay seller 'hoppersbazaar' has them occasionally, they have a '74-76 resin one now. -

Round 2 January 2018 Product Spotlight
Rob Hall replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The GT had a supercharged 5.4, way before the Coyote engine. The Coyote 5.0 is in the Revell '13 Mustang Boss 302 and '14 Mustang GT kits. -

Diecast models are where the sales and profit are for Round 2, model kits are a much smaller niche for them, I suspect. (die cast in general is a much larger market than kits). -
AMT Peterbilt 352 being reissued.....again....
Rob Hall replied to Ben's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Yeah, it's going to be just a rebox in different colors. -
Some vendors have it for around $50, or $25 per kit, which is typical Round 2 prices. Looks like a neat set, but I already have enough '53 Ford trucks and Cobras.
