Never had the ZZTop kit, but fondly remember the years when 'I had my MTV'. The 80s were a fun decade.
-
Looking forward to it..I can see getting 3--one to do as a stock 442, the FE3-X, and a plain Cutlass (I have resin wire wheel covers, need to find whitewall tires that would look ok for the mid 80s). As a teenager in the mid 80s, I remember when Cutlasses were everywhere. I have 4 of the '83 version with plans for them, so looking forward to this version.

Sometimes I miss the internet of 25-30 years ago when it was mostly only academics and techies online..though I don't miss the slowness of dialup or the largely text-only world of the internet before the web. There were crackpots online also, then also...lots of crazy stuff on the old usenet newsgroups back then.

2019 Silverado
Rob Hall replied to dieseldawg142's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The fender tabs between the light clusters is a similar treatment to the current Tahoe/Suburban. -
Long time fan... love the mix of cheesy movies and humor. I've been watching the Riff Trax series for a while also, same people.

2019 Silverado
Rob Hall replied to dieseldawg142's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, 2018s have been out for a while, and it is auto show season... and model year 2019 releases for various vehicles are only a few months away. -
They also made the front turn signals visible (they weren't really on the Ventura kit). I know there was the stock car version, I wonder if they will do a Super Duty drag version w/ a hood scoop.

Revell Charger Daytona - what happened?
Rob Hall replied to Kmb0319's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Some of the November & December Revell new releases have been pushed out to 2018 I've read/heard. So far, I think only 1 item from the 4th quarter flyer is actually out (the Chase Elliott Chevy SS NASCAR race car). There are a few still listed as late Dec, but I suspect those will be January releases. -
Any software has bugs. They get fixed over time in fix packs, point releases, etc. Overall, the site works fine for me on Safari (both on iOS and MacOS). I've had a few glitches with uploading of photos (using either the drag or choose files approach).

As a teenager in the mid 80s, I had a lot of that schwag...along w/ Ray Ban Wayfarers..still have the '87 Mustang GT I had then. Couldn't fit in the Members Only any more, though... I read about Radwood on Jalopnik..sounds like a fun show...

As much as I love new releases from Aoshima, Tamiya, Revell, Moebius, etc, I really love scoring old rebuildable annuals...

I do love Mopars of all sorts.. have the MPC '65-66s, a resin '67 Monaco, the Johan '59-60 Dodges, Johan '62 & '63 Chrysler 300 ht, Revell '62 Newport convertible, Johan '62-64 Dodges, Johan '65 Chrysler 300ht & convertible, Johan '67 and '68 Chrysler 300 ht & convertible, and some Modelhaus resin '57-62 full size. For some reason, the '61s have escaped me so far...

Of the earlier ones, I have a resin '59 ht, a rough '60 ht (roof broken off), a couple '60 wagons, a resin '60 4dr Savoy, and the '80s issues of the '62-64s.

I didn't have any Johan '68 Furys (Furies?) except for 4 of the later issue 4dr sedans. I have hardtops for '65, '66, and '67 along with a '65 and '67 convertible in my stash, along w/ a resin '68 Sport Fury fastback. I want to get the resin '68 wagon...

I don't think either of mine have the American Violence box art either, they are later releases..but I've seen the text online..it's hilarious.
-
I've never seen the Palmer '71 Cougar..I have the Palmer '70 Mustang and '70 Cougar, they are kind of mix of '69-70 styling in an abstract form.
-
It was Arii with the 'American Violence' series I think..I have an Arii '72 Challenger and '72 Thunderbird... the text was something like 'the rumble of the large v8 motor under the hood vibrates the driver's bowels'..

1/25 AMT '65 Lincoln Continental Customizing Kit
Rob Hall replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I think it's retro-stalgia...I don't have my annual or reissues handy to check. -
Palmer..they always included that junk...
-
I doubt it. Probably a variation on the retro style box art they used on the last two reissues.

I was lucky to find a good realtor here in NE Ohio last year when I was planning to move back here from Arizona. I had spent a lot of time on Trulia, Zillow, Redfin, realtor.com, etc researching various cities, suburbs and neighborhoods, dozens of specific houses for sale..had a good idea what I was looking for and my price range. She was very good about returning calls, communicating w/ texts, doing everything online (I don't like printing things out if not needed). I flew back a few weekends and she was available on Fridays and Saturdays to drive around and look at houses, she even went and took photos and videos of some houses for me.

PLEEEEEEEZ! Just go back to Flyoverlandia!
Rob Hall replied to SfanGoch's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Pretty funny thread..the last post sounds like your hood is getting infested with Millenial hipsters with artisanal beards. It does sound like a variation on what is a familiar problem in college towns everywhere, the culture clash between students and locals... -
Tamiya already did a nice 500 (and an Abarth version) in 1/24th, so there really isn't need for another, I would think...

Considering most of the Revell 4th quarter releases aren't out yet, there will be plenty to look forward to early next year. I'm interested in the Boss 302 (I love '69 Mustangs) and have the Porsche tractor RoG version on preorder. I may get the Iaconio Camaro Pro Stock, that was one of those kits I remember liking as a kid but never got it back in the day. I have enough '66 GTOs and '94 Impala SSes already, and the other kits on this flyer don't interest me.
