  1. Being an Ohio native and having lived in Ohio, Michigan and Colorado, I find snow, ice and cold doesn't bother me. And my Jeep is ready for winter w/ new tires. This summer here never got above 94, and was only above 90 1/2 dozen times. That's plenty warm enough for me.
  2. I don't mind winter weather..9 years in Phoenix was enough for me..just grew to loathe the beige desert surroundings and months of endless heat, dust, and sun. After 20+ years away, I'm finding the greenery, fall colors and water of NE Ohio very enjoyable.
  3. Interesting about the 'Trans Am' decals..the box art says 'Firebird' but I can see the 'Trans Am' lettering on the side of the car in the box art photos online. They must have secured licensing. IIRC, the 1/25th '79 reissue a year or two ago just said 'T/A' on the box..
  4. My pre-order w/ HLJ got the in PW earlier today, had an item aging out in 2 days, so a shipment is on it's way..
  5. Win98SE in 2017?? That's a really old OS...
  6. Maybe the '74 Gremlin and Allison car. I have enough '53 Ford trucks and Cobras already.
  7. I didn't realize AOL still existed..
  8. I have all their '61-68 Biscayne 2dr sedans, they are pretty nice..I've held off on getting the '69, the C-pillar shape looks wrong in the photos on the MCW site..
  9. It is odd about Meng making those kits at all...can't imagine there is much interest in US spec truck and SUV kits in Asia. I have the F350, looking forward to the Wrangler.
  10. Only the '69 500 did...the '70 500 was a regular Charger, just a trim level between base and R/T.
  11. Yeah, the Meng is a previous generation Super Duty, the current F150 would be nice to see in full detail.
  12. And they really aren't much bigger than the other set of tires that are included.
  13. I got my Modelhaus order from June 16 today. The '70 Mercury Colony Park wagon and some parts. One order from July 16 still pending..
  14. Interesting..I have that kit, never noticed that aspect of the box art. Also have the MPC '72.
  15. I don't know where they got the intake setup and carbs, though. I really doubt if the real cars ( TV cars)had a 351 w/ dual carbs, and I know the factory replicas wouldn't have had something like that...some aftermarket mod. It's too bad Revell didn't do an accurate intake, carb and air cleaner on the S&H version. At least they did on the 2nd version.
  16. Best part of the year in Phoenix is Dec-March. Rest of the year too warm and dry. Cooler up north, of course. I remember an 80 degree Thanksgiving a few years ago.
  17. Yes, as a model (be it a car/plane/train/etc) is a replica of the prototype in a reduced scale...
  18. Another term I've heard for real cars when discussing models is 'prototype', but that word has another meaning when discussing real cars only (i.e. production cars vs prototypes).
  19. One thing I realized looking at the one I got a few days ago---the optional custom tires are about the same width as the stock rubber tires. Though the box art shows custom tires that look very wide along w/ deep wheels, the tires and wheels included aren't nearly as wide or deep as the box art shows. I've never seen an original, but wonder--did the original one have really wide tires?
  20. I wonder if they will restore the original stock wheels and tires...would rather see those than the oversized wheels and tires..
  21. The 1/24th, 1/25th (along with the 1/32nd) R-M '69-70 Mustangs seem to have common origins. Different scales, but very similar design. (talking about the ones from Revell and Monogram since the 80s--the Revell annuals were unrelated tooling).
  22. I think that is the single biggest demographic in the US buying models currently. Hence all the vintage kit reissues from Round 2 and the vintage subjects from Moebius and Revell. Round 2--from their slot cars, their Auto World, Johnny Lightning die cast brands to AMT, MPC, Round 2 and Polar Lights kits are targeting the Baby Boomers. Tom Lowe is a Baby Boomer--definitely has a good feel for what is collectible amongst his peers...from his previous company (Playing Mantis) to Round 2, he's made lots of Baby Boomer collectibles (i.e. man cave/storage unit content). Been that way for a while now... at some point that gravy train is going to get to the end of the line, but not yet.. (I'm a statistical outlier in that I'm a Gen Xer that likes a lot of the vintage subjects, in addition to modern subjects).
