  1. Now my new one, I don't think I'll keep as long..maybe up to 100k miles..17 years was too long, had too many old-car issues to deal with the last 5 years for a daily...I wouldn't want any modern car out of warranty.
  2. Could be...and with Monogram's '70, it started as a GTX in the early 80s, but wasn't until the '90s that they did a Road Runner version. IIRC, the first release of the Superbird didn't have the Road Runner wing decals. The MPC '74 was labeled a GTX in it's one early 80s release, it wasn't until about 10 years ago that it was released as Daisy's Road Runner. Also, it seems that AMT lost the Road Runner naming license for a while--their '68 Road Runner was released as a '68 Plymouth back around 2000.
  3. Not really..I drove my last new Jeep 17 years before trading...
  4. I like chrome in small amounts on modern cars...I like the chrome door handles, mirror caps, light trim, grille rings, badging, window trim and bumper trim on my Jeep..though I know plenty of people black out that trim.
  5. There are cutaway pics of the Ford/GM 10spd it in this article...looks slick. I'm content with the ZF 8spd in my Jeep, but I'm sure they will have a 10spd in Jeeps eventually when I'm ready for my next one. https://www.caranddriver.com/flipbook/10-things-to-know-about-the-new-fordgm-10-speed-automatic-transmission#1
  6. The '70 convertible was the last variation of the MPC Bonneville tool, so it's whats left and has been the only one reissued.
  7. If the kit comes with no engine, I build it curbside. if it comes with an engine, I build it with an engine. Easy choice.
  8. Yeah, the MPC '67 Bonneville convertible annual. I have the kit w/ that box, but built stock.
  9. No idea..1/35th is their standard scale...military modelers probably think civilian models are in the wrong scale when 1/24th or 1/25th.
  10. I've bought a variety of his parts, good parts, good fit, good service.
  11. Looks like a good show..I wanted to go, but had previously scheduled engagements on Saturday....will plan to go next year. I haven't been to the Toledo fall event since I last lived in the Midwest in 1996.
  12. Looks like literally what's next is the '61 Catalina 2dr ht (stock version) in November and the '65 Plymouth A-990 Super Stock Butch Leal California Flash in December. Both kits are now listed on Model Roundup for pre order. 42.htm
  13. Saw this Halloween display a couple streets over, using a '57 Chevy 150 2dr sedan..
  14. Never had a CVT but have never heard anything good about them. I like the ZF 8 spd auto in my Jeep, very smooth....have the paddle shifters and a sport mode also, but usually just put in D and go...
  15. Welcome...ex-Arizonan here, lived in Phoenix 9 years...been down to Green Valley once, pretty area.
  16. Ford has been developing a 10 speed w/ GM for a while; the Camaro is already available with an 8-spd auto and a 10-spd in the ZL-1 (same transmission, also in the Raptor), the Challenger has had an 8-spd auto since '15...the current Mustang only has a 6spd...a bit behind the competition...
  17. I've had good luck with getting refunds from PayPal for resin casters that couldn't deliver product.
  18. I suspect for 2018 we will see a mix of reissues, modified reissues, and new tools.
  19. I've been reading articles about him being unreliable for over 10 years....I had a few successful transactions with him, but that was 15 years ago... I remember talking w/ him on the phone about some transaction, he seemed a bit shady. Had one eBay transaction w/ him over 10 years ago, took forever to ship. Definitely someone to avoid.
  20. The side windows and doors seem too tall relative to the windshield...IIRC from the build articles I've read, the doors are based off of '71-ish Coronet or Satellite 4dr doors, which would explain the height of the doors.
  21. Yeah, Ford started offering proper integrated A/C in the Mustang in '67. Those are leftover parts from the original MPC '66 annual...I've seen them in every MPC '69 kit I've had...don't recall if the '70 annual had them also. Pretty sure they were gone from the '71 kit.
  22. Missing Link has made them, bought some from eBay a few years ago. A resin caster in Germany has a set on eBay now ... (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Mustang-1970-73-Hubcaps-Resin-Scale-1-25-/322812338618?hash=item4b291d61ba:g:OokAAOSwq9NZ2N4k). Others have cast them also IIRC.

  24. I got the other set. Should be nice for one of my future Mopar builds..
