The marketing/SPAM calls are getting weirder!
Rob Hall replied to peteski's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I own a couple of domains, my main one is my name--had it almost 20 years. I've never noticed any spam calls related to them.. -
Yes, minor difference in how the back framing attaches..I'm sure there were different variations made by different suppliers. If the kit 'Vette part resembles the photo, it would be close enough in 1/25th.

That doesn't make a difference. Both are mounted on a flat surface at the back of the car. They definitely look like similar racks.

What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
Rob Hall replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Cool...I've dabbled w/ small telescopes years ago...wouldn't mind having one again. When I lived in Phoenix, despite being right about in the middle of the city, I could often see stars at night. The nights tend to be cloudy here in the Cleveland suburbs, not much light pollution in my neighborhood--no street lights. -
See The Usa In Your Electric Chevorlet

It definitely wasn't a fun trip for me, more of a matter of necessity as part of moving..trying to stay in motels/hotels w/ 6 dogs would have been logistically problematic, as would flying. Just needed to get 2 people and six dogs from from Phoenix to Cleveland. I do enjoy road trips that are taken as vacations, this wasn't one of them... -

One caveat with the electric car movement would be utilization of clean energy--solar, hydro, nuclear...move away from dirty old-time approaches like coal. -

46 hrs and 2100 miles in a Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ 6 dogs driving from Phoenix and Cleveland, as smooth and comfortable as the Jeep is, was still a feat of extreme endurance..that was a once-in-a-lifetime event for me...I don't plan to do that again..any future road trips will be 8-9 hrs per day with nights in a good hotel and no fast food. Some hotels have charging stations, which would work w/ an electric. -
I've bought decals and resin parts/kits from them...my experience has been good quality and good customer service.

Next Meng Kit Announced - How About a Jeep?

I got the size from the article I linked to from 2013 about the 10th anniversary edition, so go figure. Speaking of Jeeps and tires, my '14 GC has 265/50R 20s, need new tires before winter, thinking about Wrangler Duratracs, but those seem to be in 275/55 SR 20s...I've read they will fit without rubbing. -
Could probably do a cut-and-paste w/ the '69 body
-
No vinyl top.
-
I'll probably use AMT RWL Goodyears and use the redlines on '68-69 kits.
-
It looks the same as the recent Fast & the Furious '70 kit, but with the addition of a chrome air cleaner and Magnum 500 wheels and other stock parts.
-
Based on the recent Fast & Furious '70, which some say is a clone of the '68-69 tooling.

Between 7th and 12th St off Missouri. About a mile and a half from the Biltmore. Drove on Missouri or Bethany Home for years. It's funny, in the 9 years I lived there, I only worked in Phoenix for 6 months, downtown. The rest of my jobs were East Valley--Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale.

I haven't watched the videos, but am in a number of Japanese-language model building groups on FB, fun to look at the builds and get ideas... -
Mercedes Street Rod
Rob Hall replied to jaxenro's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hmmm... the Revell of Germany Mercedes AMG GT or SLS seem like good candidates..making a modern DOHC V8 fit, now that is another story.. -

Round2 Kat's Kollection - New Series
Rob Hall replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's like printing money for them...they know there are always X number of people that will buy every reissue....churn them out w/ different decals and box art, they will always sell.. I have zero interest in the subject, but I'm not the target customer for it.
