Definitely seems faster. The quoting and attachments/photos are still buggy, but those are separate issues. -
Texaco gas station from Greenlight with old Mopars
Rob Hall replied to Vietnam Vet67's topic in WIP: Dioramas
1/64th. Greenlight makes a lot of neat stuff...the Mopars look like M2 and Auto World items. -
Allpar has a few articles with some info.. https://www.allpar.com/model/ram/ram-trucks-D-1972.html 1975.html 1980 was the last year for the Power Wagon name until it was revived in '05. Not sure when they first started making a D-series Power Wagon, it may have been 1977. I know the name was previously used on the '40s era 4x4 that was still built into the '70s as a low volume speciality item. I have a personal connection to Power Wagons, in 1982 my Dad bought a clean used '79 Power Wagon fleet side shortbed, silver green with matching green interior, with the Adventurer trim and the stacked quad rectangular headlights. I learned to drive in that truck, bouncy suspension, numb steering and all...318 v8 that was prone to stall on left turns, which led to my phobia about left turns at intersections without an arrow...;) His truck looked like this, but silver green. Same wheel covers, my Dad put a set of the ubiquitous wagon spoke white wheels on it...kept it until 1994 when he traded it on a Ranger.

Interesting..separate front fenders...so they can later do the earlier pre-MCE version, I assume. -
The marketing/SPAM calls are getting weirder!
Rob Hall replied to peteski's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I don't have a landline, never answer my cell unless I recognize the number via caller id. I do see fake spam numbers in the call log w/ my same area code and prefix, so I block those as well as ones I don't recognize. -
Tower Hobbies has them in stock, ordered a couple this morning.

superchargers and turbos
Rob Hall replied to Dann Tier's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Instead of hot rod stuff, here is a practical turbo supercharged engine, Volvo's T6 4cyl, made Ward's Auto 10 best engines list last year. Sounds like an interesting engine and approach. http://wardsauto.com/10-best-engines/2016-winner-volvo-xc90-t6-20l-turbosuper-4 And this year's version, with more power and more torque, and on the 2017 Ward's Auto list http://wardsauto.com/2017/2017-winner-volvo-v60-polestar-20l-turbosupercharged-dohc-4-cyl -
Any Documented '71 Hemi Baracuda?
Rob Hall replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In a similar vein, I did see a 'barn find' 383 base trim '70 Challenger on FB the other day, didn't realize big blocks were available on the e-bodies outside of the performance trim (Challenger R/T or Barracuda 'Cuda). -

It's been done, Volvo and VW among others... http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a8490/parts-department-twin-charging/ -
The recent Fujimi one was a new tool IIRC.

Got an order of 3 sets of wheels from Plamoz today, first order from them. Very nice wheels, only a week and a half for $5 to ship from Hong Kong to the US...no complaints.

The Testors Pantera GTS kit on the box art resembles the Imai one I have (except the Imai is molded in blue).
-

That sounds like the one I have, got it in the 80s made by Imai. Does it have flared fenders and a big rear wing? GTS style. Molded in a bright blue.

The SMH resin Colt seems like a good starting point for something like this.. http://stores.smhracing.com/71-dodge-colt-p-s/

I built the Monogram ones and the AMT one (ESCI) back in the 80s-90s, have the Tamiya ones in my stash. I've heard the Aoshima ones are quite good, I have a bunch of other Aoshima Lamborghini kits in my stash, may add one of their Countaches also.

Next Meng Kit Announced - How About a Jeep?
Rob Hall replied to niteowl7710's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
If it's like their previous 1/24th kits, it will be full detail. It would be the Pentastar 3.6 V6.. -
Yeah, this is my first fall in the Midwest since 1996 (first in Ohio since 1993), so I don't really remember exactly the temps back then, but this does seem unusually warm for late September..
