Lots of trees turning, and lots of leaves falling in my front yard, but it's been around 90 the last few days..very strange way for fall to come in...

How about the 440 from the Revell '69 Charger Daytona? Would think it would be a good fit.. I think I'm going to do a swap between the Daytona and '70 Charger, so I can have a 440 Charger and a Hemi Daytona.

I had 5 stumps removed a few weeks ago--one was 84 inches in diameter, I have a huge white oak in the front and a couple smaller oaks in the back..the neighboring lots are more wooded than mine, want to add more trees, as well as extend the patio to install a grill and hot tub eventually..

I actually planted trees today, a major accomplishment considering I'm out of shape. Planted 3 small evergreens in my backyard, first time digging holes with a shovel since I was a teenager 30+ years ago. Now aching all over, took 4 Aleve.. watching football, my poor Browns getting slaughtered. I have a lot of plans for improving my back yard, but will probably need to hire a landscaper for them.

What did you see on the road today?
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Beautiful weather but unseasonably hot lately for this time of year (around 90), saw a bunch on interesting old cars out and about today. A couple streets over from me saw a sharp dark olive green '70-72 Monte Carlo on Cragar SS wheels (couldn't see the front, so not sure of the year), on the road a sharp yellow '72 Buick GS convertible, top down, white interior; a very clean '87-90 Chevy Caprice--dark red w/ no vinyl top, white walls and wire wheel covers; and at Swenson's (NE Ohio drive in burger joint) a pair of well worn-but-still driven older Mopars--a red '69 Polara 2dr ht w/ tattered black vinyl top and a dark green '74-76 Dodge 4x4 pickup...sitting side by side. -
I'm not sure what you are asking, but they are two different kits of two different subjects. One a Mitsubishi, one a Toyota. No correlation between the Dodge Colt (Mitsubishi origin) and the Toyota Corolla Levin other than that they were compact Japanese cars from the same era...I have the Fujimi Levin kit, plan to use the chassis that came with it. For a Dodge Colt, there is a resin Pro Stock kit out there from SMH, besides the old Doyusha kit.

Yeah, an Unlimited would be nice...most JKs I saw in the Phoenix area when I lived there were Unlimiteds...lots of them modded w/ bigger tires, etc. Neat vehicles.... -
Neat Prinz...always thought the styling looked like it could a baby Corvair.

Fascinating... the tail spoilers on the spindly struts were problematic on the race cars in '68, tended to twist and fall off during races, I've read. I've been wondering about the DS21 also... -
I had a land line in Phoenix for the alarm system (2008 vintage), but with the house in Ohio I got an alarm system that works over the wi-fi...have carbon monoxide and smoke alarms tied in with it, multiple outside cameras, etc tied in..control it all from my phone. Working from home, I use my cell for my work phone since I have unlimited minutes; have my work extension in Scottsdale routed to it. The funny thing about spam calls on my cell is there almost never a message left..I see them in phone call log as missed calls, but no message. So I go through and block the numbers, though I know they have more and will try again..

Similarly to the Platz M6 taking a long time coming out after being announced, the unicorn I've had on preorder with HLJ for 3 1/2 years now is the Ebbro 1968 Lotus 49B..don't know if it's a licensing issue w/ Lotus (they have released other Lotus F1 kits in the interim) or the tobacco livery or what...supposedly, coming next month, but previous release date announcements have come and gone, so I'm not holding my breath. -
I have no landline and keep my cell ringer off; I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number through caller id, and with the Ring video door bell, never answer the door unless it's legit.

For a regular 440 (or 383) the Revell '69 Daytona seems like the ideal source. And vice versa to do a Hemi Daytona.

Quoting with replies is still a problem, and I can't delete my own comments in a thread....buggy software... -

The Grand Cherokee has 9 different trim levels and loads of aftermarket customization going on... I own one, so that would be my preference....but the Wrangler will be nice to have. -

I remember first shopping at Kay-Bee (K-B?) Toys and TRU in NE Ohio almost 30 years ago...in the malls in the Akron-Canton area..there was another chain toy store then that I remember--Child World or a similar name in the Belden Village Mall area of Canton specifically. Though I don't recall ever getting models at them, it was all die cast...over the last 25 years living in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Colorado, Arizona and now back in NE Ohio, I still occasionally went to local TRU, always looking for die cast..

Cool..will be nice to see a modern Jeep kit. The Rubicon 10th Anniversary would be from 2013. Though I'd rather see a current Grand Cherokee (WK2), like the Trailhawk, Trackhawk, SRT or 75th Anniversary Edition... -
They really should have cast the windshield frame as a separate part.
-
Never seen models in one...the one near me has a good selection of die cast (AutoWorld, M2, Greenlight, Matchbox, Hot Wheels), but nothing I can't find on eBay or online vendors like Discount Model Warehouse.

Better than orange, I suppose. Though some previous GL versions were molded in white. -
Revell Chevy Silverado kit

There has never been a Yukon kitted in any scale. The first generation Tahoe (Chevy version) was made in 1/25th scale by AMT as a snap kit over 20 years ago. I can't recall seeing a die cast Yukon in 1/24th, but there are 1/24th Tahoes and Suburbans of various years out there in die cast.
